Mafioso Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 Based on the quotes from this report the Yak is open to playing for Rovers in the championship next season..... http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2896/premier-league/2012/05/18/3110246/yakubu-admits-to-mixed-emotions-following-blackburn He says he targets a quick return to the Premiership... ...a transfer ?
BrisRover Posted May 18, 2012 Posted May 18, 2012 He says he targets a quick return to the Premiership... ...a transfer ? "It is sad that the club has gone down but we have to bounce back to the Premier League." He also goes on about the togetherness of the squad. Not really dialogue of somebody who would be trying to cast the net out to potential suitors.
chaddyrovers Posted May 18, 2012 Author Posted May 18, 2012 yak wants out http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/9715879.Yakubu_wants_out_as_Kean_chaos_continues_at_Rovers/
Mafioso Posted May 19, 2012 Posted May 19, 2012 " we " Yak, Junior, Robbo, Olsson, Givet.... Dont get me wrong I'd love for him or any of the above to stay, but loyalty has become such a thing of the past at this club that its pointless pinning my hopes on him staying because he hopes the team bounces straight up. He's not getting younger than "29" so he needs (and deserves) a transfer if he's to spend the last few years of his career on a high.
gumboots Posted May 27, 2012 Posted May 27, 2012 http://www.teamtalk.com/news/2483/7781921/I-may-leave-Ewood-admits-Yak next one
Emge Posted May 31, 2012 Posted May 31, 2012 Blackburn set to lose Yakubu and Givet to megabucks Chinese offers He (Yakubu) has a clause in his contract which allows him to leave for £1million and that will not be a problem for the wealthy Chinese, who have also offered him £100,000 a week. Pardon????
neophox Posted June 1, 2012 Posted June 1, 2012 Bye bye Yakubu, can't see us keeping an 18 goal premier striker in the championship.....he will be 30 and maybe he has one good season left, seems lazy sometimes.

gumboots Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 At risk of being accused of pedantry, that isn't what the article says. To be honest it's not pedantry as it's not even vaguely what it says. All it says is allardyce wants him. And completely separately he's going to have talks with another player and about other players.
Amo Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 If we somehow manage to keep Yakubu next season we have a chance of staying up.
owenrilla Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 To be honest it's not pedantry as it's not even vaguely what it says. I'm well aware of that but given some people's aversion to being corrected I was being diplomatic.
The Dart Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 If we somehow manage to keep Yakubu next season we have a chance of staying up. Wow! The silly season is certainly in full flow now. We haven't a hope of surviving.
Amo Posted June 14, 2012 Posted June 14, 2012 Wow! The silly season is certainly in full flow now. We haven't a hope of surviving. You don't think a striker who scored 17 goals in the PL last season has enough to keep us in the Championship?
The Dart Posted June 16, 2012 Posted June 16, 2012 You don't think a striker who scored 17 goals in the PL last season has enough to keep us in the Championship? My good man, the current almighty Spanish team wouldn't keep Rovers up not with Stave Kean et al.

Moderation Lead K-Hod Posted June 18, 2012 Moderation Lead Posted June 18, 2012 Nixon story- so it's ###### then.
Shabani Posted June 19, 2012 Posted June 19, 2012 For anyone who wants some specifics the news over here is that he's heading for Guangzhou R and F The article simply says 'Guangzhou', when the city actually has two very rich teams that are 1st and 3rd in the league its like saying that player x is moving to English club Manchester...
Guest Rovers4Good Posted June 20, 2012 Posted June 20, 2012 Can't see big Yak coping with 2 games a week and could defo see him leaving this summer.
davulsukur Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18577535 Shebby doesn't seem to have convinced The Yak not to move into a retirment home.
booth Posted June 25, 2012 Posted June 25, 2012 Not quite sure why Venky's are spending big money on Danny Murphy but allowing Yakubu to go for big money. If they matched that money he'd be top scorer in the Championship. And it'd mean Yakubu could back his best mate Steve.

If they matched that money he'd be top scorer in the Championship. And it'd mean Yakubu could back his best mate Steve. That BBC link says he will get around £110,000 per week. No way on earth they would pay that.
