i thought Lowe was a better full back than a midfielder tbh , wouldnt have a problem with him starting seasonas first choice right back at all

as for Gomes , assuming we sign Best , i dont see what he offers that , say , someone like Ricardo Fuller , doesn't offer

2 Years that is just Bizare considering what happened with last years older players(ie.salgado), not judging the players quality just how poor of a deal that would be unless hes on a very low(under 10k deal), Talk about going from 1 exteme to another.

2 year deal for a 36 year old, following a 2 year for a 35 year old.

Still lowering the average age then!

Look on the bright side, Kean can't spout his bull**** about being the youngest team in the league this year

O wait hes portuguese, steve kean apperently is the only person at the club that speaks portugese(other than riberio i imagine!), keans just building a little army of sychophants in the dressing room it would seem.

Gomes family name is also Riberio. so thats 2 usless Portuguese speaking players names Riberio at the club

Lets be perfectly clear LOWE is neither a defensive or a holding midfielder. He is a full back at best. Playing him in midfield is one of te reasons why we were overun in every game he played in that position. No positional skill and no ability to make runs, creat space or to provide the killeer passes, all he does is foul and create havoc for our own defence.

It was Lowe first season. He played out of position and under the direction of Kean. All said he did OK and better than some of the senior players. Give the lad a break. What did you expect from a 19 year old?

Gomes is clearly past his best and has come to rovers for the cash. That said he brings experience and proven goal scoring record. We just have to hope he has the heart to play at this level.

If you have it, at 19 you are storming it, Pele, Best, Rooney, Oxlade Chamberlain, Phil Jones etc.

Real top drawer quality is there for all to see at a very early age.

Lowe will be no better than a journeyman.

i actually think nuno would score a few goals and be good to have around, like when we signed hughes last time and he looks like a naturally fit player, its just the 2 year deal(if its true) that just doesnt add up.

I'd rather we signed Shabani Nonda again, and that's saying something.

So Lowe isn't going to be a legend of the game, that doesn't mean he can't be a useful player in the Championship for Rovers this season. If everyone could have players like Pele et al then they would and we'd have no need for the Jason Lowe's of the world. Unfortunately, those talents aren't ten a penny and the ones that are out there won't be fancying Rovers right now, so what are we to do?
