[Archived] Millwall away

Recommended Posts

Been to the old and New Den several times.

The locals are colourful but I have never had any problems there. A matter of being sensible.

I see myself at the sensible type of guy, but I have to say that my blood was flowing going to the tube packed with Chelsea supporters for Chelsea away last season.

Another question: Is Burnley definitie on the 17th of March, what is the KO and is it possible to get tickets ?

Also been a few times in the home end with a Millwall supporting mate. They have no axe to grind with us and if you're sensible you should be fine. Usually lots of police and fans are segregated from the train station

Their fans have been tainted by biased media reporting for years and really aren't that bad, kind of like what we've suffered with the reporting of the Kean Out chanting in the past year

Went down for a cup game a few years back. Drank around borough market market (next to london bridge tube) that had a right mix of clubs in it. The Millwall lads we met in there were great.

Saw no agro all day, was a damn good day out.

Funniest thing I ever saw on a coach going to Millwall for that cup game. Kid of maybe 10 eating a pie saw us pull up in front of him and we're just sat there in traffic so he decides to make a statement. He looks at his almost whole pie with just a couple of biites taken out of and lobs it at our coach with all his might, god knows why. I couldn't stop laughing and neither could anybody else on the coach. Kid suddenly realised he'd thrown his lunch at us and the only thing he'd done was deprive himself of said pie. I think he realised the foolishness of his ways all he watched the pie slide gently down the coach window and onto the floor having done no damage to us or the coach.

Got a couple of Millwall mates so have been quite often, they are a scary bunch of illegitimates. Last time I went a throw on was given to the opposition within thirty seconds of kick off, a chap behind me stood up and bellowed at the top of his lungs "referee you despicable we don't like that word, please don't use it c*nt!!" The throw on had been correctly given to the opposition and was on the halfway line.......you can only imagine the stuff that this bloke came out with for the rest of the game.

You should be fine, just be sensible and keep your wits about you.

I presume you drank in the Rake in Borough market? Smallest pub in London, but big on good beer.

Not sure of this. But I think when you get to London Bridge, they put on a train especially for away fans. Which takes you to South Bermondsey station. Then at the station there is a special route just for away supporters to the away end. I am going to London Bridge soon, so may make a detour in that direction to check out. Those coming from Blackburn are best using the official coaches, that is the safest route. I know there have been changes with Millwall supporters. But do not be fooled. It can kick off very very easily. What I encountered on saturday at London Bridge, coming back from Charlton surprised me. Rovers supporters do appear to be 'disliked' in london at the moment. Due to ignorance about rovers situation with regards to Kean and venkys. Though a few more articles such as henry Winters today, would come in very handy these days. Do not wear club colours.
