iamarover 156
Mark Wastell was one of the greatest supporters this club has had. His London address didn't stop him being a long time season ticket holder over serveral decades, and treasurer of the Blackburn Rovers London Branch pretty much forever. I had some great times playing with Tonto for the London Branch and on away trips in the late 80's and early 90's. Our friend the Marple Leaf re-posts a lovely obituary from Martin Cook here. A sad loss. http://themarpleleaf.blogspot.hk/

dave birch 603
I never met or knew the guy, but as part of the Rovers family, I offer my condolences to his family. Thanks for that post Iam, it adds to the history of our club. Perhaps we can add this to or create a part of this website that highlights supporters past and present. jim mk2 8746
I was at that Wimbledon match in 1985 - shouldn't be too hard on Rovers as the 'Crazy Gang' were in their pomp at the time. Wish I'd met Tonto - sounds an interesting chap.
johnradfordsubbuteo 180
That was a fitting obituary Martin. I only knew Mark for a few brief shining moments when I was London branch 89-91.those tours were marvellous sport. Warm memories now chilled by an untimely reminder of mortality. Howard Culshaw (regards to those contemporaries in the London branch)

martonrover 1031
Having only joined London Branch this Season I didn't know Mark well but he was a lovely guy to speak to and a huge Rovers fan. Some other present and past London Branch members have emailed similar tributes and recalled happy memories of Mark. RIP.
iamarover 156
Always sad to see a fellow die hard rovers fan pass away. As a side issue, is that the neil arthur from blacmange who is pictured in the photo? Neil was a useful left half for the London Branch at the time he was trying to launch a solo career. Some of the trendier clubs - like City - used to chat to him about his hits at corners. Tonto turned up for his relaunch at the Marquee. He was an ever present with anything to do with the Rovers; matches, games, darts, cards and pints of bitter in the Lord Rodney's Head. I hope Jack has bought him one. philipl 7032
I first met Mark Wastell at QEGS and then knew him on and off over the past 32 years in the London branch. Very sad that he has passed away and will miss his inimitable humour.
