G Somerset Rover
Does it really matter who the front man is, if as MG suggests Shebby is manager in all but name? Over and out for me, including on here I think until the owners eventually leave. I can't be doing with this anymore, just not worth the stress. imy9
A 25% win percentage from 12 games. Will fit in straight away That's more than DOUBLE Bergs! Makes sense McDonald is a top coach- Shebby will choose the team and 'manage' was that not the plan?

RevidgeBlue
Think the reality is that Balaji put his personal wealth as collateral for the bank loans and expects to run the show.Expect to see the Portuguese team take the field against Barnsley. If Balaji was so concerned about his personal exposure, why woulod he be thinking of appointing an out of work coach who from his picture looks about 75 and who has never managed before? He'd be finally stepping in and ensuring a credible appointment was made surely.
Stuart
McDonald is topping the betting because its a small market and Nicko has published his story online. He has been wrong before Venkys have been known to change their minds before now. I just hope people don't start betting on Singh as a result of MR Goad's post because it could give Singh all the ammunition he needs to convince the Raos. If Singh becomes manager (even jointly) I think that it will kill the walk-ons completely and will even put off many season ticket holders - except happyclapper of course! RevidgeBlue
I'm sure BRAG will be happy. Yep, seeing as BRAG boasted about taking the credit for blocking the appointment of the inexperienced McKinlay, how does that tie in with the potential appointment of Ronald flaming McDonald? rovers11
Relax, McDonald is one of the new coaches coming in and not the new manager according to cryer. strange way of going about things, appointing a coach before the manager.
booth
I was thinking Neil McDonald, who the flip is Kevin McDonald? Neil McDonald, although not my first choice wouldn't be that bad. During his stint when Sam was in hospital we played very well and got results. Does it really matter who the front man is, if as MG suggests Shebby is manager in all but name? Over and out for me, including on here I think until the owners eventually leave. I can't be doing with this anymore, just not worth the stress. If this is true then we need to be chanting Shebby out at every match. The guy needs kicking out of the club immediately.

booth
Hmm............ has McDonald worked under McCleish previously? I think so. Yes, and he was at Villa for 17 years before Lambert was appointed. So he worked with all of those managers too.

philipl
Cryer said coach lined up, manager not. Nixon says Macdonald as manager.
KyleBRFC
Andrew Cryer @CryerRovers Like I said I have been told coach lined up, manager not. Hopefully that means the McDonald story about him being manager is rubbish

booth
don't you mean venkys out? Both, but seeing as Venkys were willing to appoint Holloway earlier in the season, for me Shebby is top of my kick in the @#/? list.
Drover
There are only two explanations for a coach being appointed before the manager: A ) manager is already lined up and the coach is someone he has previously worked with ie mccleish B ) the manager will not be the one running the show as someone is going in over their head ie shebby I hope to god its a ) but if i was a betting man i'd take a punt on b ). And we thought it couldnt get any worse
rovers11
I suspect the mix up with the Nixon story is because McDonald will be manager for the next couple of games but won't be permanent manager. that's my guess.
Stuart
Relax, McDonald is one of the new coaches coming in and not the new manager according to cryer. strange way of going about things, appointing a coach before the manager. Interesting if McDonald comes in as a coach, particularly as he was linked while Berg was here. Is McD Singh's choice and Berg wanted his own men or wouldn't sack Black? (Has Berg ever sacked anyone?) One the one hand we were failing and changes were needed so maybe Singh has been decisive. On the other hand if Singh thinks he can replace him then you'd have to think he's lost his marbles. Although it does fit with previous comments he's made about wanting to be a manager. Apart from that McDonald has previously worked with O'Neill (no chance) and Houllier (very doubtful) so who else apart from Singh would request McD? And which manager would come on after coaches who weren't of his choosing? If McD is coach, Singh is manager.
Neal
Has to be said that with this guy working for McCleish, then all fingers point to him?
Tyrone Shoelaces
I wouldn't mind Mc Donald coming in as a coach, he's done well bringing young players through at Villa. If he's working with an experienced manager that would be fine. We need a manager here with a winning mentality, all the recent ones having come with loosing mentalities . For him to be appointed manager when the club is on the brink would be complete and utter madness. So that's probably what Venky's will do.
