Mercer Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 So do we credit Appleton for the big calls or his PR agency? I'm going to go ahead and give him the credit he deserves here, I'm not even overly concerned about the result the fact he has dropped the players that needed it is a good sign going forward in a season that is all but over Agree. A statement was needed and has been made. If it was my call, Murphy would never kick another ball for Rovers again.

LDRover Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Orr on the bench? Sorry, not acceptable. He should NEVER wear the shirt again after his antics.
G Somerset Rover Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 @OneRovers Subs: Sandomierski, Orr, Givet, Best, Nuno Gomes, Rekik, Bentley. Orr got his spot on the bench from apologising through twitter. Mrs Murphy didn't say sorry from Danny using the same means so there's no place for him.
danger19_80 Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Like that team. Lots of pace, presence in central midfield, set piece specialist in pedersen, just think we are missing a target man up front. When King and Best are fully fit we will have a half decent team. Still think Bentley has a lot to offer but is struggling after barely playing since leaving Rovers for Spurs so it's a little too early for him to make an impact. Didn't think Bentley was all that awful Saturday tbh. Actually put in a few dangerous looking crosses and one good through ball for Campbell.
OJRovers Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I'm glad he's made the changes, but that is a weak team, it will look much better with Martin O, Best and King back in.
LeChuck Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Rovers: Kean, Henley, Dann, Hanley, Markus Olsson, Stewart, Lowe, Jones, Pedersen, Campbell, Rhodes. Bold move from Appleton. Words are meaningless without actions, and that's a clear statement of intent. Either Bentley is suffering from the rumoured illness, or Appleton isn't at all happy with him since his arrival.
Stuart Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Orr on the bench? Sorry, not acceptable. He should NEVER wear the shirt again after his antics.Just spotted this.NOT GOOD.
LeChuck Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Orr on the bench? Sorry, not acceptable. He should NEVER wear the shirt again after his antics. He's our only other right back. Cutting off our nose to spit our face won't help. I'm 100% sure he'll be gone in the summer.
donnermeat Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I'd rather have a midfielder on the bench instead of Orr.
LDRover Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 He's our only other right back. Cutting off our nose to spit our face won't help. I'm 100% sure he'll be gone in the summer. Lowe can play there. Sorry, but after the way he has treated the fans there's no way he should be anywhere near the team. Murphy was sh1te on Saturday, Orr was sh1te and downright disrespectful.
G Somerset Rover Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Lowe can play there. Sorry, but after the way he has treated the fans there's no way he should be anywhere near the team. Murphy was sh1te on Saturday, Orr was sh1te and downright disrespectful. I never like booing players but Orr deserves both barrels if he ever steps out onto the field in a Rovers shirt again. End of.
Devon Rover Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Even if we lose tonight (which I think we will) I still feel that a step forward has been taken. Well done to the manager for the changes made. It's a shame that what we are left with is a very mediocre team - but at least there might be an appropriate level of effort shown by the Rovers tonight.
G Somerset Rover Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 I could be wrong here, but is Murphy not on 9 bookings? Therefore if he'd played tonight and got a yellow he'd have missed Sunday. One for the conspiracy theorists.
donnermeat Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 In before 'I can't believe Murphy's put in 9 challenges'
riverside returns Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 The bookings must have been for gobbling off. Not for excessive effort.
T.J.Newton Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Im pretty certain Murphy will start against millwall
Backroom Tom Posted March 5, 2013 Backroom Posted March 5, 2013 Im pretty certain Murphy will start against millwall Well we have very very few other options for that game
m1st Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 At the age of 66 and with a walking stick, I'd have been prepared to volunteer to play full-back ahead of Orr! Ah, well!!
T.J.Newton Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Well we have very very few other options for that game Id simply go 5 in the middle Lowe in the centre doing the defensive bit an Bentley and morten at each side of him then two more on the wing with 1 up front. ie. Rhodes winger morten lowe Bentley winger ollsen dann hanley Henley ***Marcus olssen is at left back tonight(I thought he did really will playing LB in the opening games of the season until he was injured).
Majiball Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Who's playing left back tonight? Kean Lowe Dann Hanley Henley Stewart MGP Jones Olsson DJ Rhodes one assumes.
Backroom Mike E Posted March 5, 2013 Backroom Posted March 5, 2013 Anyone at the game? No updates for 15mins Bbc say more possession but no shots. Bolton have 3 shots but none on target.
T.J.Newton Posted March 5, 2013 Posted March 5, 2013 Sorry but ive corrected it for you, this is how the teams lined up tonight Kean HENLEY Dann Hanley Olsson MGP LOWE Jones STEWART DJ Rhodes one assumes.
