Perhaps we can have a more constructive and professional approach next time one of Venkys representatives spouts on at a drunk-sodden 100 Club function I'm afraid until the Trust rid themselves of the oafs responsible for that farrago they get not pound one off this 45-year supporter

Ditto

If only the Trust were having an election to allow people to influence who gets to represent the Trust in future......

While that's a good point I saw it mentioned online that the position in discussion isn't up for election

Ozz, this is a very minor point made by others. On something this formal I think you need to be signing it off in your Sunday name. No biggie but I think it's something to consider for the future.

If not we may as well have Wazza Wild as well ;)

Ozz is no more stupid a name than Balaji or Venkatesh. In fact Mrs D may prefer it to Oliver.

She may think he's some kind of wizard.

What kind of unholy logic leads to the Rovers Trust thinking that Venkys can be reasoned or co-operated with? Have they not proven their limitless incompetence already? This is not a company making a series of bad mistakes, this is a black hole of stupidity that is taking everyone down.

As the only official Supporters Trust of Blackburn Rovers, we must approach all matters with a level of professionalism. Does anyone think the Trust sending a letter in an aggressive, demanding and posturing tone would help? This was the only way to approach the Raos that could possibly have the smallest chance of getting any response.

We gave it to Derek Shaw to pass on to Mrs Desai, which he has promised he has done. We understand that she is in receipt of it also. The matter of which language to use was also discussed and we were advised that English was the best choice.

We CANNOT FORCE a sale from them, but by using this constructive approach at least we can say we have given ourselves the best opportunity of getting a foot in the door. If they continue to ignore us or chose to decline our offer of help then so be it. We have other irons in the fire which we will then consider using.

Personally, I am extremely proud of the content of the letter, and stand by its content and in the way we have gone about trying to establish some sort of line of communication with our current owners. Who is to say that this may not still illicit a response? But, as T4E points out, to continue to ignore such approaches whilst things at Ewood slide from bad, to worse then worse still is folly of the highest order.

In light of the latest news regarding Shaw how can you be sure she received it?.

Can fully see Venkys strategy for next season being get into League one, reduce the wage bill to that standard. Sell players in the summer to cover part of the accrued debt, along with the incoming parachute payment. Then come next summer when the parachute payment comes in, there could be a handsome profit to be collected from BRFC with the only downside being a club of league one status with no hope of returning in the near future.

Lets hope they sell up in the summer then everyone can move on.

Perhaps the letter should have been sent by airmail recorded delivery or modern equivalent and a copy sent by email.

In any case an extra sentence at the end should have stated, "Please acknowledge receipt of this letter."

The Trust are having an election - we have adopted a model that is used by Supporters Direct (the UK body for Supporters Trusts) and developed a model with an independant chair. Our members will have a vote on who is on the committee, that actively works towards the aims of the Trust. The details of the election have been published and soon we will be sendign out ballot papers etc. Obviously you have to be a member to vote - that's normal with any society. The Trust is made up of 2 co-chairs - currently Wayne & Ozz plus a committee of others, who carry out specific jobs for the Trust in order to make things happen. We also co-opt people with special skills to help us with specific tasks - especially with legal or IT matters.

Having said that we are always welcome to other offers of help... if you would like to help then please just contact us.

There's only ever been one thing to get them to sit up and act . Embarrassing them on their home turf.

Take out a full page ad in The Times of India ( regional will do to keep the cost down) and print a scathing assessment of how they have conducted their business dealings with the Blackburn rovers.

If we have a director if an international media /pr company on the books, lets use some contacts to get some interviews placed with influential media in India .

Everything else is just tiny noise in Blackburn and is easily ignored.

The cost of ads in the Times Of India runs to thousands of pounds and, one ad in one day's issue, cannot be relied on to hit home.

You have no way of knowing if any of them read it.

We are working on some major international news stories, however, in hugely influential media - so watch this space.

You can buy a regional based ad in the nationals- it's much cheaper .

The point is- it gives you a platform for media interest and effectively allows you to conduct a bunch of interviews around it.

But if you have some media activity planned - that's great news.
