which times are these? I know we are living in a time of tax payers (funny socialist idea that) picking up the bills it's costing the government to bail out private banks which have been left to do as they wish due to the neo conservative ideas of the free market, sure 13 years of New Labour also followed the same free market liberalism but New Labour isn;t exactly a bastion of socialism. ''Free loaders'' I guess a lot of the people working in the finance sector especially the one one still taking home 7 figure bonuses could fall into that bracket, since they are basically pocketing state hand outs, whilst at the same time I know plenty of people who work hard in full time jobs and don't really have much to show for it..

I'm sure if we lived in a 'society' that had more principles, and principles that went beyond financial gain what happened down at Ewood wouldn't have happened, take a look at German footy, but this is England and the free market rules thanks to Thatcher and unfortunaley her many millions of followers, so we have the Premier League which is all about money.

On thread I think we will struggle to win on Saturday - hope the players show some Tim Flowers style "Bottle".

As for politics - I don't like bankers milking it - I don't like spongers milking it - I don't like middle England paying for it all - I'm neither rich nor do I seek a free ride. I work hard expect to be taxed fairly and would always want a free and just society. Winter of discontent - broken Britain not too distant a memory. Banking crash all too fresh.

An out of control socialist Europe compounding all problems - waiting for the inevitable train crash.

I'm ready for the revolution, bring it on.

As for Saturday we need to win or we will be relegated imo ,because I don't think we'll beat a battling Hudderfield if we can't beat Derby,

who are all but safe.

This is our most winnable game left.

Derby's away form is weak, they've nothing to play for, and their best 2 players are injured. We're not going to get a more golden opportunity to get 3 points than this.

Despite our absymal form, I've a feeling we're going to do it. Probably for the above 3 reasons, and the fact that there's often a freak result or two and we're more than due one. Personally I'd go with the following team:

Polish chap

Kane Hanley Dann Givet

Lowe Jones

Kazim Dunn Olsson (the good one)

Rhodes

You could probably push Kazim up and play Dunn out wide and that would give us more presence up front. Or play a 4-4-1-1 and really play to Dunn's strengths. Also this team can pack the midfield with a 5 and enable us to pack the midfield. Hopefully we wouldn't loose possession as much as we usually do and would provide the defence with more protection.

I realise Givet won't be picked for no good reason. In this case I'd push Olsson back and put in Pedersen. Granted his performances have been mixed this year but they've been much better than that waster Stewart (inspiration that anyone can become a footballer) and covers a lot of ground defensively. I also think Peds allows (and covers) for Olsson going forward and joining the attack.

Who knows how badly the Pune trip has affected the team or preparation. Head says a 2-1 win to Rovers as we scrape towards survival, heart says 1-1 continuing to leave us anxious.

That looks a fairly decent team on paper, but will they all put a proper shift in ? we can only hope the coaching staff can get them up for it.

If ever we needed a performance its now.

Gomes and Rhodes scored goals together, they were the only strikers who together have been on the same wavelength.

They looked anything but on the same wavelength against Millwall in the cup.

Remember the old chant in the Third Division days we used to sing it for a long time, two sections sing. One lot would sing "We are the Rovers" another lot would sing "We are the Champions" I'm sure many remember it. How about getting it going on Saturday but "We love the Rovers" Oooh "We hate the Venkys" Pretty sure it should be a similar sized crowd as back then.

Thankfully, for once they have made the right decision and agreed not to have a minutes silence. Would have been gut wrenching, as it would get the loudest reaction of the day otherwise!

Hated the Cow but this Desai witch is running a close second

To balance the argument - I would have absolutely respected a minutes silence to Maggie Thatcher.

Time and again conservative values have to pick up the pieces of Socialist policies & freeloaders.

Work hard - gain rewards - stand up for your country when needed. Thatchers values.

Hand wringers - do my head in - they ruin your country - and watch idley as damage is done.

Bit like down at Ewood.

(13 years of labour screwed the UK)

Balls. But if you want to talk politics a Tory Prime minister associated with a football club whose main town constantly returns a Labour MP is just stupid. Her name should have been scored off the club's hierarchy years ago.

We were just chucking aiming long balls at him, Best on the wing and Rhodes v people like Danny Shittu. Hardly fair to write him off.

Yakubu played alongside team mates who chucked "long balls" at him. He had the technique and strength to control the ball and create chances for himself and others though. These arguments about lack of service are the same arguments that were used to excuse Kalinic's lack of technique.

When Gomes had the ball at his feet he invariably either played the ball out of play or lost it.

Agree about Gomes he was woeful in possession the last few times he's come on

I think tomorrow will be one of the most depressing days at Ewood in years, relegation may sink in for a tiny crowd against another poor team

The team will meekly surrender again

So Agnew more or less hints bowyer is the man if we get relegated .. Haha what an insentive for him then .. Best thing for him and his family is lose and be relegated . Training missed for a Pune jolly , I fully expect a crazy selection tommorow and thumping loss

I mentioned yesterday but I think the opposite for a change - I think we'll get a marked improvement. However, I think we'll lead for the majority of the match but get sucker punched late on. Convinced it's going to happen, betting on your team to get a draw surely isn't a crime?

Tbf, he's pushing 37 and been playing in fits & starts. Who wouldn't expect some rust in the engine?

When a player is used for 127 minutes since the 6th of October, it is hard to be in form.

Maybe if he could actually play, he could be useful for Rovers...

Don't really understand why he's not played as at the start he looked decent still. Should have been played as a striker with Rhodes as I'm sure he could pass to him when needed and would have weighed in with one or two.

Tuesday will top it.

Derby will position the nail over the clubs heart and Huddersfield will wield the killer hammer blow on Tuesday

Well if this is the way it pans out, I'm sure a few of the overpaid players will be quite happy, hoping

that Venkys pay up their contracts and they become free agents, even if they take us into administration

those players probably won't lose out.

Hence the obvious lack of effort they have shown.
