Agnew was Press officer here under Hughes, Ince, Allardyce and Kean.

But was only made an employee of Blackburn Rovers under Kean and associates, before he was a contractor (hence had no official decision making abilities regarding the club) and was part of the contract between BRFC and his company PAPR which was on a 12 month rolling basis (source: fans forum minutes), So his speedy rise to notoriety is bit like Asda at Grimshaw Park having a contract with a window cleaning firm , then appointing the window cleaner who regular does that stores windows to Regional North West Asda manager. The fact that he was a contractor to the club for a number of years and yet John Williams did not see fit to give him a paid position within the club should tell you a lot

So therefore he would not have had any need to meet Venky's or any of their "advisor's' or "advisors" associates before the takeover or before his appointment to the board as PAPR had no reason to be involved with any of those, and would only have met them on the instructions of the Club who his firm was contracted to. if he had any involvement with any of the above not on the instructions of the club what were his motivations?

I'm not 100% sure but in one of his many insightful question answering interviews think he might have let it slip that he was a lifelong Rovers supporter, so obviously Chaddy I understand why you think his intentions are in the best interest of the club . But don't take things at face value to some people personal gain is a lot more important than a small North West football club.

But in his defence I'm sure when the whispering campaign regarding John Williams reached Venky's, good old lifelong Rovers supporter would have played down these rumours and stuck up for Williams etc after all only has the clubs best interest at heart and bet he was very disappointed to see the board who saw fit not to give him an official position leave, just glad he was here to take up the reigns as a life long Rovers supporter (think he mentioned it once) and appoint a competent mate to the board who saved PNE from extinction with 4 hours to go because of his fantastic ability to "make a deal", the fact that his fantastic abilities got them to that stage in the first place (with average players on lengthy large contracts , amongst other strange financial decisions , sound familiar? ) is of no importance apparently
