Watching Pope again he hasn’t watched the ball on to the bat and played it under his nose. He’s pushed out looking for turn that wasn’t there. Poor batting and good bowling.

I can't disagree about technique which has been exposed on both sides but the first test was played on a track that only started turning end of day 2 and was a far better spectacle

The previous ball spun and bounced over his left shoulder Jim. This is the problem. Nobody can bat on it including the home players.

Archer out to another rubbish shot swiping across the line. Pitch not involved. Archer should be No 11 never seen him make any runs

totally agree this must be the longest tail in history he is a 10 at best - meanwhile Woakes is off home

the tour is unravelling in ' rotation.....'

The ball wasn’t spinning though Pope should have seen it was seam up and was going to go straight on.

Can you imagine this pitch on day 5!

They've prepared a pitch that even the home team can't play on, but they should win this from here.

Leach has a better technique than most. Watches the ball all the way on to the bat and plays it under his nose. By doing that he’s also playing it late which is the hallmark of the best batsmen.

he spent a lot of time in the centre at loughborough with the temp cranked up to 90f but don't think it was his batting he was working on but he's a very determined lad

A green seamer in England will often flatten out after day 1 and be good to bat on day 2 and 3, or clouds at Headingley or Trent Bridge can quickly move away negating the big swing.

Problem with a pitch like this if it is turning square from the first morning is it will only get worse and worse.

Our batsmen would almost be better not playing for the spin.

The vast majority of the wickets have just been arm balls.

agree that way if it turns you are going to miss it by loads..

could be shortest test since 1935 or even shorter

I never want to see England lose, but this has been 2 days of enthralling cricket.

Its not test match cricket, I'm sure we all agree, but its been great entertainment.

Much better than that cr@p last night....
