He'd have to be pretty poor not to be an improvement on Spurr.

My thoughts too (although would have Spurr as back up lb based on his 1st season here and flexibility) but then the lad hasn't played much competitive football which is a bit of a worry. Plus our past history of lowering standards - it's not a given he'll be better.

He played at Ewood last season for West Ham Under-21 but I can't say he stood out. At the end of the day he is our player for next season and you can't judge him until he has a few games under his belt so we can see how he does. Hopefully, he'll be an improvement on Spurr.

Didnt West Ham spend 1 mil on him?

So clearly they have seen something in him to buy him.

Hope Spurr doesnt sign here

Really? Spurr is that bad? Is it all about pace these days?

I personally think that the ideal full back should be fairly quick, and whilst Spurr isn't, he's a decent championship defender

IMO He is a poor full back, slow and turns like a tanker!

We desperately need pace throughout the team on last seasons evidence.
