The Socialist Left Party agrees with them Mike. No bias there.

It was just easier to quote a tweet to be visible, but folk on here attack the source when they don't like the content.

"...and Arnstad received support from SV’s Heming Olaussen, who heads SV’s EEA committee.

He pointed out, among other things, that the British do not have to deal with the European Court of Justice and thus do not have to accept any EU legislation as Norway now has to do."

That's actually pretty fair 🙂 hopefully means Brexit is substantially easier to move forward into than I'd been assuming even a week ago.

Abit the Guardian and Daily Mirror Labour supporting papers

But the Guardian writers can be quite critical of Labour when they feel Labour has it wrong, while overall hoping they succeed. Its a left-leaning newspaper with integrity.

That's a distinction you seem unable to grasp.

Finally Brexit has happened and we have left the EU now and it's laws

Congratulations to Boris Johnson and the Conservative party for making Brexit happened after the 2016 referendum vote. He kept his word that he would deliver what the British people voted for.

The UK now will control it's own laws, immigration policy, trade deals and its UK driving it's own way in the world.

We are the 5th Biggest economy in the world and relevant in the world.

Shut up! There's winning with grace and you don't seem to have grasped that concept.

Educated Germans know more about Britain's problems than its own ignorant citizens

Meanwhile, our destiny is the hands of a 3rd rate opinion columnist who was sacked twice for lying and a cabinet chockablock of fellow clowns.

What could possibly go wrong?!

I am delighted we are out the EU and will be in control of our own pathway now in the future. What is wrong with being happy and Delighted?

Hopefully more countries will come out of the EU in the next 15 to 20 years

I just wonder how people who voted to remain would have reacted towards us who believe we should be out of the EU in remain had won.

Anyway Happy New Year

Nothing wrong with being happy and delighted about us leaving EU chaddy, plenty more outside of this forum that share your view, that’s why leave won.

I never voted leave myself, but looking out the window this morning the sky hasn’t fallen in, life goes on, you’ll struggle to find a Brexit story in the papers this time next week.

I have no problem with anyone being pleased that we have left. However, to revel in it when for many, like myself, it is a time of regret and disappointment is just not the kind of behaviour I like. Its like deliberately celebrating in front of opposition fans. I dont like that either as I just think its unnecessary and I hope, if we had been able to prevent our leaving the EU, I'd have been able to keep my mouth shut, on here at least.

Best post of 2020

1) Pathetic Gav. Worst post of 2020. Go to the Guardian search engine and look for a few. For example The Guardian was often scathing about Corbyn's leadership and, in particular, abut his attitude to anti-Semitism allegations in the party.

2) Chaddy you are absolutely shameless in liking that post. You are on the record about the Tory rags which you read and about never reading the Guardian.

Not the same as "although I voted Remain" is it?

Never been a fence built you didn't sit on.

I'm one of those strange fellows that can see both sides of almost every argument, I can always find some good in either side, I'm not wedded to one side or another like you seem to be and I mean that with respect 47er.

I hope you and your family have a great 2021 and thats goes for everyone else that posts on this forum.

I can always find some good in either side too Gav but, weighing it all up, I can still reach a decision.

Much like the Guardian in fact!

Same for your family too Gav, have a good one!

Wages are high, population is low. Oil and Gas are plentiful, unemployment is low. And that's all because they are outside of the EU🤣

Thanks for clearing that up then.

There are countries that can survive outside of the EU. Who would have thought it?

You must have done at some point to keep making an issue of it. Then again, not all countries are the same, or have the same resources, so it's a bit silly to make comparisons between Norway and Britain.

Oh is it silly to compare countries now too? I’ll remember that.

Know for certain you were one of them arguing against me and a few others about the comparisons of countries regarding Covid data.

Compare when it suits - don’t compare when it doesn’t. Your hypocrisy knows no bounds.

Are you insulted by that?

It certainly wasn’t meant to be an insult but I do know in this day and age people are very sensitive. I must apologise if you are insulted by my confusion.

Im just looking for answers on when it is ok to compare countries these days. Is the answer only when it shows the U.K. to be worse or what?

Accusations of hypocrisy aren't supposed to be insulting? And if you know people are sensitive why would you insult them? It's almost like you want to offend people. Strange.

Oh, I see you're having a pop at Gumboots too. Tut tut

All the best.

He caught me at a bad moment. Late at night on New Years Eve is never the best time as far as I'm concerned. I hate New Years Eve at the best of times and  this year it seems a particularly pointless celebration with nothing much to look forward to for months on end and possibly even longer. To gloat at that point about something you know many are unhappy about is just unnecessary
