I’ll be honest and I feel bad saying it but I can’t enjoy that victory  He should be gone, he won’t be gone but that was abysmal

I would far rather play abysmally and win than play brilliantly and lose.. I think. In retrospect I had much better things to do yesterday afternoon and should have left my Rovers engagement to l

This is my favourite quote from the article, of course you will move things around, you do it every bloody week, mostly for no reason at all!

Playing bottom of the league at home....

Inspirational stuff Tony.

“We’ll train again (on Friday) and then pick a team for the weekend and see if we can get the three points.”

If we don't get the three points against Barnsley at home, surely there'll hardly be anybody left who doesn't want shut of TM. Anything short of a victory is absolutely and utterly unacceptable. I don't care if the ref sends off two of our players as soon as we kick off for no reason. Enough is enough. Win or fuck off Tony.

Spoiler alert - I'd quite like you to fuck off even if you win, unless you're about to learn and improve your decision-making dramatically, which I doubt.

Not even close to losing the majority of match going fans.

I’ve never known such a Teflon manager.

It's strange.

His record over the past 45 games since Preston away last year is pretty poor. 52 points from 45 games, so just enough to keep us out of that bottom three, with over 70 goals conceded in that time, two transfer windows and not a hint of a permanent deal for a defender.

I just can't imagine he survives that anywhere else, are we all really still clinging onto that third division season?

what would happen if bennett got injured

If it was any sort of serious injury, i honestly think Mowbray would just shut up shop and tell venkys we can't continue as a club anymore.

Despite this being about as low as I've been about Rovers in my lifetime I still look forward to Saturday's when we're playing. International football can pop itself in the bin until the tournaments, frankly.

How are you going to ruin my weekend this time, Tony? I foresee an appalling 2-2 draw with Tony really cracking in the interview afterwards and blaming it on Ryan Nyambe despite him not being in the squad before catching himself and talking about "investing in them as human beings on the training pitch next week"

Been a while since i posted, almost totally lost interest. Got this one down as BTTS, seems to be a good bet for Rovers.

On a separate note, has anyone else heard of any take over/buying in talk?

Heard something but that's about as much as i can say. Could be way off, hoping someone who may of heard the same might come forward and give it some more substance.

A bit drastic for someone who took over from Coyle and has taken us to a far better position. I agree with a new voice, but to that level of anger is absolutely bamboozling

Lower than getting relegated to League One? Lower than Steve Kean as manager? I think there are some short term memories.

Enough money to give a contract to a perennially injured League One standard player who plays in a position we don't need out of sympathy/loyalty yet not enough money to keep our 15 goal set piece specialist/captain who actually plays and in a position we are short on numbers.

Something doesn't smell right.

Wasn't a pay to play appearance contract if i am not mistaken?

Unfortunately I imagine it will probably be miles off, no takeover is happening here, certainly not in the near future if ever.

What's the far better position?

Graham and Mulgrew are years older and fading. A nice collection of midfielders aside the squad still looks unbalanced and weak in places. We've spent £15 million and have no credible replacement for Graham. We have a keeper who is Steele-esque at times (who we don't even own), we have a limited right midfielder as captain and right back, we're woefully short on defenders and in the summer will need to replace 5/6 players just to stand still!

Yes we have some very good midfielders - Dack, Holtby and Travis -and I do think a better manager could get us doing much better with the squad we have, but when so many players aren't performing well, the squad is so unbalanced, we've spend £15 million on little return and we leak 2 goals a game I struggle to see massive improvement.

We are back to where we were when Mowbray came in.

Really? So i assume you would rather have:

Gordon Greer, Henley, Wes Brown, Jason Lowe, Hoban, Hendrie, Ward, Feeney, Akpan, Guthrie,Joao all back in the squad?

We have a stronger squad and are not in the relegation zone, and have a far more stable club...You are right though lets go back to the glory days of 2017

If you want to give yourself a heart here is the squad he took over from: Now please don't tell me we are not in a better position...

On paper yes our squad is better than that one obviously, but our league position isn't showing much improvement at all from back then.

A consortium made up of the Sultan of Brunei, King of Saudi Arabia, Emir of Qatar and Bill Gates could publicly ring Venkys every day for a month to try and buy the club and they'd refuse to even answer and Rovers fans would still believe nobody was interested and Venkys are the best we can hope.for.

We were relegated that year we haven't and finished 22nd right now we are 18th so if we are picking on technicalities yes we have. The memory of a fan is incredible. I am not even saying keep Mowbray in charge, but to think he is a villain and hasn't improved us in 2 and a half years is delusional. He got us up from League One, finished mid table the following season, have a stronger squad...I mean is it really that hard for fans to say he was actually one of the few managers under Venky's who has done an admirable job?

Compared to 16/17 hes definitely improved us in one area - midfield - but we are undoubtably weaker in defence, and strikers (despite spending 12m) we're arguably significantly worse. At least in the last Coyle season we had Emnes on loan who was streets ahead of Gallagher and Brereton, and Graham was younger. Plus Lucas Jao made an impact, and we had Gallagher on loan then too.

He's really made his mistakes in terms of poor transfers. All the decent ones have been attacking mids. Everyone else has been weak except Cunningham and he got injured.

He's only got himself to blame for poor prioritisation.

Also he tactically committed to wide striker system which just has not worked at all. We're scrambling to find an effective way to play.

All hall marks of a manager on limited time.
