This sermon is brought to you by the Daily Mail. Victim-blaming repugnant nonsense.

Aye those bastions of left wing media like the Times and Telegraph. Hell, even the Mail, Express, and Sun are at it.

The 'hysterical left' comment does you no favours.

The country does deserve better. But it's 4 years to the next election and all this will be forgotten, the Tory press will have rallied to the cause and the working class drones will vote again for their lords and masters.

I think you might be too pessimistic there. The tide is turning. If a week on politics is a long time......

Also, let's not forget the calibre of this cabinet, least talented in living memory, plenty more to come.

I get the feeling the guys personality has got them baying for blood.  He's been a sneering, arrogant bugger with all the press from what I gather and they are going for him.

I expect it to settle down if Boris deals with it quickly.  He does flip flop a bit so hopefully he will do the right thing after a few days to collect his thoughts and engage his allies.

Start of May:

BJ: Master Cummings, it seems the papers have got wind of your trips north for your mother's birthday, what if they print it?

DC: Shit! Well they'll probably take a few weeks to actually confirm it, right? Ease the lockdown, hopefully when the story comes out it won't seem so bad. I took my son, let's pretend I was looking after him.

BJ: Yes Master Cummings.

If he sacks Cummings as you think he might----how does that make Schapps and Gove look. They were wheeled out to defend him when Johnson was in hiding.

Also, Johnson has said Cummings has acted with integrity!

I think the attention will switch from Cummings to Johnson who has been appalling.

Wouldn't surprise me if Cummings resigns citing family reasons in 48 hours. Cant be nice for his 4 year old child with all the press outside the house or neighbours shouting at his parents.

If he does hide behind his child (again) it shows you the mark of the man.

As for Boris, we now have throngs of Conservatives on Facebook and Twitter calling him the worst PM this century. That's bearing in mind two were Labour, and of the two other Conservatives one of them put their knob in a pig.

Very judgement Mike yet again.

Yes Boris Johnson and the conservatives who delivered the 80 seat majority in parliament and Labour its worst defeat since 1935.

Wow, did he? Why haven't you mentioned that before? ?

You understand we've now time-travelled 6 months into the future, and it's 8 months of lies to the Queen and to us, racism, absence, holidays, ignorance, and apathy.

But I did. ;)

But now is time to get the economy back on track, getting schools back and our investing in our young people(of course within the health and safety guidelines plus phased return ), investing in infrastructure, redevelopment and businesses. Creating more jobs and businesses over the next 10 years. Protect and spending more on the NHS through the NHS funding legislation. Plus manfacturing more and making sure we are creating our own PPE for NHS and social care sectors.

That's is what people want now from the government(and other political parties) is a plan going forward how our country will restart and rebuild after this coronavirus in my opinion.

Of course in accordance with the number of deaths and hospital admissions declining, the 'R' rate staying below 1, no second wave of the virus, ending the lockdown in a phase way, hopefully a vaccine/treatment is create and works so people can get back some sort of normal life they had before this coronavirus happened.

Chaddy, noticed folks are still dying and the virus is still circulating?

Spanish flu killed nearly 90% of its victims in the second wave.

All told Spanish flu killed twice as many people as World War 1 did.

Putting Covid into context, in June excess deaths will pass the total number of British civilian casualties of World War 2.

Re- opening the economy requires the trust and confidence of the people doing the re-opening.

After yesterday, has anyone got any trust or confidence in this Government in any respect?

Has this Government got any moral authority to ask anybody to do anything?

Does Johnson look, behave or sound like a PM?

How many kids does he have? Officially the answer is we don't know. Is that normally tolerated other than by the late Marquis of Bath?

If Johnson personally told anybody to do anything in City Hall as Mayor of London, he was ignored. Real power was elsewhere. When he was Foreign Secretary he was a standing joke in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and globally.

If you are one of the 14,000 people who has been fined for lock down infringements, are you probably feeling that you were a stupid sucker if you paid up?

If you have refrained from seeing loved ones or been massively inconvenienced in child care or elderly care, are you steaming angry at the Government right now?

This goes straight at the most basic emotional ties of society and people have been suffering immense core emotional stress. They are not going to forget the past several weeks ever.

Johnson and Cummings have just told Britain they either have zero emotional empathy or they don't give a shit about the families of Britain and probably both.

Somebody destroyed their career and quite possibly faces criminal sanction for that Civil Service tweet. By heck they are a hero. 90% of society applauds them and wishes they could do something like that.

The conventional levers on society are falling off.

I am not saying anarchy rules but remember economically there is a second wave coming absolutely certainly.

Brexit is going to be as bad for Britain's economy as Covid. What happens when there is another blatant shit show like that press conference and politically, people remember that remainers were in the majority?

Who is going to fill in their 16 page customs declarations for these 50,000 customs officers to check?

Apparently the Police are already getting Cummings thrown at them as an excuse for disobedience. Remember the Police are still 20,000 officers short and under paid and under funded and that is based on policing a society which has given its consent to be policed.

As of 5pm yesterday, consent is optional.

I can't remember you saying that before.

He supports the conservatives in the same way he does Rovers. You can imagine him constantly reminding a fan of a rival team about beating them 5-0. When almost the entire country agrees that Cummings is a piece of shite - Chaddy still defends him.

The government much like our manager can never do wrong.I anxiously await the Boris Out thread and Chaddy finally agreeing before changing his mind again 2 days later.

Didnt say otherwise.

Just tired of seeing the same stuff repeated time and again - yes we know the conservatives won by 80 seats.

Half the world has the media down as mainly left wing if you pulled your head out of this little deluded marxist society on here you might notice it.

The media in this country couldn’t be more right wing. They’re owned by (often non-domiciled (Conservative party donors in some cases.
What media outlets bar The Mirror and The Guardian do you think are mainly left wing over here? I’m intrigued.

I don't think it matters who owns them all do they go on right wing recruitment drives throughout each dept ?

The same ones you and others on here accuse of being right wing get accused of being far left on a daily basis. Truth is they'll swing both ways in order to sell papers but people will only see it the way they want to. You seem to base it on the election drive when it swung to Johnson more but i'd suggest that was soley down to the fact it was Corbyn in the other corner. Just because they want to actually back their Govt doesn't mean they are all right wing maybe they just want to get the country moving again and respect democracy after the Brexit shambles because it's crystal clear now which way most of the public wanted that one.

Momentum, Blair and others still carry weight with MSM it's glaringly obvious and somehow their fingers and knives are in it on a daily basis.
