But those experts are "wet behind the ears" Mike unlike the pedlars of internet crap who insist Elvis didn't die and Americans didn't land on the moon and quote Wikipedia as an authoritative source of information.

Why believe the obvious when you can come up with something much more dramatic?

It’s the brexit syndrome, no matter what the real evidence is, they won’t believe it.

The covid-19 conspiracy theorists and brexiteer supporters are usually climate change sceptics too. There’s a common thread of refusal to believe in science, denial of statistics and weight of evidence, and deep distrust of the state. Have a look on guido fawkes and other right wing websites. They’re all there.

There is no actual evidence on Brexit because we’ve never left before den, just to play devils advocate. Expert predictions and forecasts maybe, but no actual evidence.

Conspiracy theories on Covid19 are laughable, it’s the same lot that still think Bush blew up the twin towers and covered it up, absolute Bunkum.

These idiots queuing up at supermarkets at 6am need to nip down after lunch instead, our Sainsburys was well stocked and virtually empty yesterday afternoon, B&Q on the other hand was heaving.

Plenty of evidence Gav, but the point remains.

Sigh ?

What is it about the Brits which means if they see a queue they instinctively join it?

On another note.

Public health are working out how to tell people to stop jogging.

Running creates a cloud of bodily aerosols around you which if the runner is CV19 positive is seriously bad news for anyone within 3 meters of the jogger.

The same goes for public gyms.

The authorities are rushing to shut down gyms which have moved outdoors in Malta.

Probably just as well this is in French or the Brexiters would self-immolate:

https://www.liberation.fr/planete/2020/03/21/coronavirus-les-coulisses-du-bras-de-fer-entre-emmanuel-macron-et-boris-johnson_1782622

Effectively Macron telling Johnson to get his act together or else UK gets cut off.

Incidentally, Malta has 73 cases now- 5 health workers infected and the rest travelled from abroad.

Before Italian, French, German and Swiss travel was banned, that was where they are all coming from.

The leap in numbers in recent days are from Moscow - 5 (Putin is lying his arse off about the disease there) and the rest from the UK.

On that very small sample the disease must be far more widespread in the UK.

Countries like France Germany and Malta are picking it up in people travelling from the UK because they are doing vastly more testing.

Malta is now totally isolated, no flights, no ferries, no cruise ships. Only freight movement.

So just a couple of days after telling everyone we’ll get the job done on coronavirus in 12 weeks, he’s now saying the virus is set to overwhelm the NHS.

what a lieing  b’tard he is. Not just that, he’s a dangerous lieing b’tard.

The advice is to social distance philipl, so this won’t be an issue surely.

It’s never been denied it will overwhelm the NHS, that’s why they’ve plundered the private sector for beds/nurses and equipment and also cancelled all non essential Operations.

But the hope is we will be over the worse of it in 12wks, as long as people follow the advice.

The safe distance is much larger if somebody is sweating and much larger again if they are moving energetically so spraying their sweat around.

Authorities are working on a December timeline.

Because the general public find it hard to think about these things more than three months ahead, psychologists are guiding Governments to talk about those timelines.

One of the biggest risks are people in public life screwing up their messaging and triggering depression and suicides.

Impossible that this can overwhelm the NHS ( which it will. Being too slow in implementing measures lead us here) yet be over the worst in 12 weeks Gav.

This is unbelievable. It reportedly took Macron's threat to close the UK border for Boris Johnson to finally shutdown bars and restaurants. The Elysee refers to UK policy as 'benign neglect'. This failure of leadership is costing lives.
