Are you suggesting Mowbray didn't do his homework on a player who cost us £7m?

Yes most likely offered by an agent,he had money burning a hole in his pocket and wanted to spend it.

I don't believe the theory he was forced to sign Brereton by the owners. The money should have been spent much better

Bloody hell Nyambe is destroying them, can’t believe some want to sell him on the cheap before his contract runs out  He’s a crown Jewell

A very enjoyable game for a pre-season friendly and a very encouraging performance, particularly in the second half.  Felt sorry for Fisher who made a couple of clangers but otherwise did OK.  I thoug

Managers say all kinds of crap about each other before and after games. It’s just football politics. We had managers telling us all how good Kean was when he was here. Not a single one of them offered

I'll never understand the £7M bit. Its not as if we were having to fight off competition.

I don't think Mowbray's got the hang of it----we bid low when others are interested and high when nobody else is bidding!

If he had made a few sub appearances and an odd start and then been bombed out I would agree with @islander200.

However, he hasn't had a "proper chance" (presuming that means a run of games) because in the 40 odd appearances for the first team he has made he hasn't looked very good.

He will get more chances now as we have allowed 2 strikers to leave and brought none in.

Financially, we couldn't afford to blow £7 million on a dud. That mistake has already been made. Jeopardising results by not accepting this would be a second mistake.

I thought he was our least effective outfield player yesterday. Even the Leicester guys commented on how he did nothing to prevent a dangerous cross coming in from the guy he was supposed to be marking.

Tony 'I'm not a great negotiator' Mowbray hits them early doors with our max bid. Then quits when there's nowhere left to go.

45 and can play on either wing RB, RW, LB,LW.

Probably still quicker than Bell (ran 100m in 11.3 seconds earlier this year) so have accleration and pace. My fitness is great play tennis 12 hours a week and go gym 4 days a week. I am a great dribbler and great passer of the ball and specialise in a through ball.

Weaknesses not great at tackling, heading or crossing with my left foot.

So I basically Bell at defending, Rothwell when attacking and have the versatility of JRC ?

That’s nice, but can you kick a ball in a straight line though?

LW and you've no left foot crossing ability ? You'll fit right in with modern football.

Ha ha! I was a better player on the right and am a good crosser with the right. On the left I would rarely cross and cut inside as you say I would fit right in!

5 years ago playing for a vets side on the right wing I scored 37 goals in 26 games...
