Who is this bloke on the FF who is trying to push for the training centre to be moved to BwD?

Didn't expect much more from the minutes really. A few "we're working on things" and "looking into it" etc etc.

Also I thought these owners never refused a cheque according to some?

So to sum up my thoughts after reading that…

All or part of Brockhall is still likely to be sold at some point but the Academy is still very important. The most vocal FF member (part of the FF since Oct 2020) apparently believes this is “very positive”.

The lack of pitch investment is apparently Venkys fault.

Low ST sales next season will be the fans’ fault (fear over Covid and “out of the habit”, Mowbray effect not mentioned)

They intend to offer some “loyalty” programme to ST holders between 2019-21 - presumably last season’s will get a discount and the previous season’s will be offered to retain their ST seats. No mention of pricing strategy.

“Possibly” launching the new kit during school holidays / Euros (so around now?).

Waggott believes Venkys are now experienced football owners and “deserved” to decide on Mowbray’s role. Mowbray is staying and this appears to be attributed to Venkys - although the minutes are ambiguous worded: “it had been decided” but not by whom.

In another four years it is hoped for improved fan engagement - no comment from the club. Same FF member felt it would be “very positive”.

Zoom deemed unsuitable for meetings with fans. FF is apparently now the main fan consultation meeting. No mention as to whether this group will be more responsible / accountable no other fans now not able to have an audience.

Some accounting “queries” to “resolve” by end of June to avoid an embargo.

Summer window will be to replace players who have left - so more of the same but with lower quality players.

The divisive “Taking the knee” gesture is likely to continue indefinitely at Rovers - decision is Elliott Bennett’s apparently.

The Macron deal was “unbelievable” for Rovers - presumably in the same wag that Owen Coyle was unbelievable for Rovers?

This club is having the life sucked out of it and the fans have no power or influence to stop any of it - that’s not in the minutes though.

TLDR:

- Pitch: blame Venkys

- Mowbray staying: blame Venkys

- ST sales projections: blame fans

- Taking the knee to continue: blame Elliott Bennett

- FF meetings to replace full fan consultations: blame covid

- We’ve done all we can

It's never Steve and Tony's fault. This should always be remembered. Only God can judge them.

I'm amazed the obvious follow up question of 'who decided' wasn't asked.

...and on what merit?

Do people sit in these meetings and just go "Oh, okay then" whenever an answer is given?

@only2garnersCan we asked for more details about what the conservation was around Mowbray staying and was any reasons given for why the owners decided he should stay?

Also Where in Blackburn with Darwen could a new training ground facility go given thats we would need around 10 pitches, indoor football centre with room for swimming pool, gym, changing rooms for all the Rovers team and big enough car park for 200 cars plus Outdoor pitch with Floodlights? Where not just leave the training ground facilities where they are currently given thats our facility is excellent already.

What's the delay in releasing season tickets and making them available to buy?

will the new shirts from Macron not be unveil until at least July since the Contract with them doesn't start to July?

I've just driven past Readings new training facilities.

Now those facilities look absolutely fantastic.

I've seen the Leicester training facilities and they are fantastic online.

I don't see any reasons why Rovers should want to move from Brockhall sites currently apart from financial reasons and Where in Blackburn could you bring a such a new facilities given what requirements would be needed?

Lies damn lies and rely on statistics to keep the farce rumbling on.

It's going to get very toxic very fast next season unless Midtable Magoo pulls his finger out.

All a very sorry read.

- The manager was never ever going, lots of "ITK's" not really knowing what they claimed, or getting duff information.

- Absolutely nothing in the way of critical feedback from the looks of it, Waggott and co getting the easiest of easy rides.

- A worrying vagueness to the embargo and no guarantee of avoiding it.

- Further proof that the statement that Venkys are "willing to sign any cheque" is a load of bollocks.

- A forum attendee with clearly an agenda with his comments about moving the training ground.

- Again contrary to popular belief, the budget still to be finalised.

- Contract negotiations not going well.

Just doesn't really matter to Waggot, Mowbray and co they can do what they want within the budget. They'll still get their thousands per week whilst the club continue to shrink and the crowds with it.

Zero ambition for anything other than covering each others backs and staying wages.

Blame everything on covid and indirectly the owners, to the owners blame everything on covid and lack of fans.

Sit there right in the middle shrugging their shoulders.

Useless.

The question may have been asked but the meeting minutes are sent to Waggott for approval before being published. I suspect that any real details are redacted unless they fit the current narrative.

Look at the actual wording:

so he (SW) felt that they(the owners) deserved to make key decisions like the manager’s role. The position had been discussed and it had been decided that Tony Mowbray would be staying.

He mentions the 'manager's role' as a decision for the owners ( ie the specifics of what a manager's job is at the club  ) but he does not state that the discussions about 'the position' of manager invovled the owners.  I suspect the discussions took place between Waggott and Mowbray. If the owners had spcifically told Waggott that they wanted Mowbray to stay it would have been in the minutes.

The sort of things we needed to know are:

Who shelved the Brockhall fiasco

Why was it shelved

How much  money was wasted on the aborted scheme?

Are there now plans to upgrade the facilities on the existing sites

Did Waggott ever specifically ask the owners to commit to a new £2m stitch pitch or was it his decision not to go ahead

Who made the decision that according to SW  Mowbray would be staying? The owners or was the decision left to him?

Overall all you ever tend to read is things like

"We've been caught red handed with our fingers in the cookie jar over Brockhall but we'll just brush it under the carpet and pretend it never happened"

"I know we promised a brand new state  of the art pitch to deflect criticism when we  had a game called off but that isn't happening and we'll pretend we never promised that either"

I know we haven't been able to get new kits or season tickets on sale but we're hopeful we'll be able to do so sometime soon"

"We haven't been able to pull off any contract negotiations"

and everyone seemingly sits there and says nothing or even sympathises.

Goes without saying it's an absolute shambles from the Club but nowhere near good enough from the Forum either.

Spot on.

the fans forum needs a shake up for example the attendees, it needs a mix of critical friends of the club rather than a majority of nodding yes brigade
