Wonder if they will have a different logo on our shirts?  representing the not bothered about results , or the league table, instead representing the never ending journey so favoured by our leader ToMo

Yeah it will be very interesting to see prices for the shirts.

Did JH ?  say the Forest shirts made by Macron were pretty cheap ..or were they in the sale ?

Yeah if you go on the Forest website they have a decent range of Macron gear. Far bigger selection than in the umbro stuff at the club shop. It showed original prices and sale prices, their full prices were less than our Umbro sale prices.

I'm OK with Macron but we will see what designs they come up with and how Waggott prices them.

“commercially, this is an excellent deal for the club”

Translation: we’ll buy them cheaper and sell them for more.

Wonder if they’ll ever do anything that is “excellent for fans “.

Difficult to assess 1how "commercially excellent "it is when the Club haven't announced how much they'll be paying us for the privilege - if anything at all.

Might just be a case of acquiring the kit for free and then fleecing the supporters as much as possible once again like you say.

As  for the designs themselves we'll have to wait and see. I actually liked last season's home shirt for the first time in a long while.

It’s piss poor again in my honest view😡 why is the announcement not accompanied with a shirt? Shoddy marketing again and another poor performance commercially

The deal doesn't start until July 1st so I doubt will see anything until then, or maybe just before. I doubt the club have even recieved the shirts yet. The majority of clubs announce new kit deals before showing off the new kit, possibly due to breaking existing contractual agreements with the current manufacturer, so we're not alone in that regard.

Looks like Macron have 'done a Ribble Valley Borough Council' and announced plans and deals on their own website before the club could be arsed to get round to it.

These pesky third parties going off announcing things before Rovers have the chance.

How hard can it be to announce things properly rather than waiting for fans to go off and unearth it on other websites forcing the club into an announcement?

I'd imagine it wasn't meant to be put on there yet but whoever is in control of updating the site accidently did it early. If that hadn't been done, the announcement possibly wouldn't have been made until closer to the time the deal was due to start.

Just had a look on their website under the "over 80 Clubs sponsored" tab and couldn't find any mention of us on there.

Funny how that keeps happening isn't it?

Alternative is that the people at Rovers haven't got a clue and keep getting gazumped on major announcements.

But both parties have to be in agreement of when to announce it. The club couldn't announce it before without their approval. Macron put the announcement up on their Twitter account shortly after Rovers did. The fault lies with whoever updates the Macron website, just like when Umbro accidently put the new away kit up early on their a few seasons back (although that could only be found by changing the URL).

We're not the first club it's happened to and we won't be the last. Some of the biggest clubs in the world had their shirts leaked months ago, with some already on sale in major sports shops in Australia and other parts of the world, despite the fact the clubs haven't actually revealed them themselves. This isn't a one off either, it happens pretty much every season.

Tinfoil hat on: It could be that the terms don't change regardless of which division/league we are in. Commercially that would be an excellent deal if relegation is on the radar....

Don't go about being balanced and giving a rational reason why Rovers aren't a fault. That's not allowed in these parts. It doesn't matter that these things leak for most clubs, Rovers are incompetent damn it. Note some 2022 kits are already leaked for some clubs - Rovers are poor for not showing/announcing theirs. But if they leaked ...poor Rovers, getting shown up by other parties.

Rovers announced it on Facebook last night, to be fair.

The point i was raising was that Macron 'announced' the deal late last week/over the weekend. It was posted on Facebook with a link to their website showing their clubs and Rovers were one of them. It happened several days before yesterday's club announcement.

A similar thing happened when we got 10 Bet in 2018 and they announced it, along with our new kit, before Rovers had revealed either.

Ribble Valley Council announced the Brockhall scheme several days before the club said anything that then forced them into an announcement.

There's a trend here - if you follow Rovers' official channels you will be the last to find out about things.

But they didn't officially annouce it then. The club badge was put up on a page that could only be found by clicking on a link at the bottom of the homepage. They put up a news article on their site yesterday to announce the deal. Macron probably weren't even aware themselves (apart from the person that uploaded it to the site) that the badge had been put up until it was found by a fan looking for the slighest bit of evidence that they were our new kit manufacturer.

The club can't control what happens on other companies sites. They would have had an agreement of when to announce the deal and would fully expect the other party involved to stick to the date and time agreed.

So why does it keep happening? Was the Ribble Valley BC thing another error or just ineptitude by the club allowing such a major plan to leak out ending up with egg all over our faces?

It wasn't that hard to find. It was on Macron's main website not hidden away.

Like I say, it happened a couple of years ago with 10 Bet too.

The club can control it. As you say these companies are signing contracts and agreements with Rovers. Are you suggesting Macron have breached their contract already by putting it on their website? Or is the more likely alternative just that Rovers work so slowly and poorly they are late to the party with everything?

Do you think for one minutes that Man Utd, Liverpool or Arsenal would allow such stuff to happen?

Commonly, more things leak out of these clubs because of sheer volume of journalistic interest in the happenings there. Utd's Team Viewer shirt sponsorship was rumoured weeks in advance

The Ribble Valley BC thing is ineptitude by the club, that is something I can fully agree on. The rest I can't agree with as a time and date for such announcements would be agreed on in advance. If a website admin for the other party involved mistakingly puts something up too early, then that is the fault of the website admin, and only the website admin, and will be a breach of contract by said party involved, which in this case is Macron, who probably wouldn't be happy either.

No major harm has been caused because of it, in fact the only company that may be disappointed by it would be Umbro as we still have a contract with them until June 30th.

Plenty of new kit deals for other clubs have already been leaked with no official annoucement having been made yet such as Newcastle and Wolves moving to Castore. Last year, Leeds deal with Adidas and the kits they would be using were leaked before an official annoucement was made.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool have their kits leaked months in advance every single season. In fact Liverpool's home kit for the 22/23 season has already been leaked, as have the Nike kits for a number of the major clubs they have contracts with.
