Statistically, the defensive work aside perhaps, they represent a pretty standard performance for most midfielders. 2 Quote

G Somerset Rover Posted yesterday at 09:33 Posted yesterday at 09:33 (edited) Grabbed another assist and MOTM display yesterday against Fulham. Nice to see high praise for our academy too in some quarters: https://x.com/rajsinghchohan/status/1997762721543024880?s=20 Edited yesterday at 09:34 by G Somerset Rover 1 Quote

A hard working player but he hasn’t got the passing ability that Wharton has. Another instant pass yesterday that created the Palace first goal. You could see how he spotted what was on the cards a couple of seconds before everybody else. 2 Quote

And not just because he's a local lad who played for my team. He is as good as there is in that position. When you make the game look as easy as he does you know he's special Edited yesterday at 11:25 by Comfortably numb 4 Quote

Comfortably numb Posted yesterday at 11:51 Posted yesterday at 11:51 Palace to sell Wharton at end of season Yesterday Exclusive By Alan Nixon Crystal Palace will sell midfield star Adam Wharton at the end of the season if a multi-million bid comes in. The England hopeful is on the wanted lists at Liverpool, Manchester United and Manchester City and has foreign interest as well. Palace are now preparing to cash in if those giants come forward with the money - and the funds would help them. A huge bid would give Palace extra to offer striker Jean-Philippe Mateta whose deal is running out. As revealed first here, the player and club are well apart in negotiations. Palace were looking at giving Wharton a new deal with a fixed price in that contract. But that will not stop the likely exit of the young Eagle. Blackburn Rovers will be watching developments as they are due a slice of the profit after selling him for £18 million plus a possible £4 million in extras. Wharton will be open to a move that includes Champions League football as that seems the next step in his meteoric career. Quote

I'll be surprised if Real Madrid/Barcelona don't try and entice. He'd be a perfect fit at Bayern too. He'd drastically improve his all round game by playing in another top league 3 Quote
G Somerset Rover Posted yesterday at 12:47 Posted yesterday at 12:47 Another Nixon classic. "Club could sell star player if a big bid comes in". Quote

'If a multi-million bid comes in' has to be some of the stupidest phrasing I've seen in an article. Nearly every team in the Championship would pay 'multi millions' for him. Practically every move in the Prem is multi millions. Quote

They are also-rans and on top of that English players joining them usually spells the end of their careers. See jadon sancho et al. He's good enough to play for real madrid 1 Quote

47er Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Tugay could smash it in from 25 yards as well. After Douglas, the most naturally gifted player we ever had. Quote
philipl Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Saw bits of the Fulham and Dingles games. Adam surprisingly by his standards had a bit of a stinker at the Turd but would have been dominating the headlines if Fulham hadn't scored one of the sweetest goals I have ever seen. Quote

That's because they have a chance of keeping Mateta due to his age. Although that chance is getting slimmer due to his performances Wharton is gone regardless, to a club much higher up the ladder, so may as well cash in and keep another of their important players Edited 3 hours ago by KentExile 1 Quote

joey_big_nose Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If I was Wharton I'd look abroad. The top clubs in England are chaotic at the moment and have huge squads. It's hard to be that sure you will get consistent games. Man Utd - really poor team, and have ruined and are ruining so many good young players you would have to be mad to go Man City - very stifling tactical setup, massive squad, what happens when Rodri is fit? Like Utd have track record of taking on young players and marginalising them Chelsea - truly massive squad, vast turnover, got a lot of centre mids. Liverpool - maybe best bet - but do they have any money after spending so huge in the summer? Arsenal - Could work but not sure they are looking to spend at the moment? Munich, Real, Barca all good shouts I would say. 2 Quote
