I dunno, 2 years with a 1 year option doesn't sound too bad. I'd probably have preferred 3 years with a 1 year option knowing how we do things with renewals, but at low cost and aged 28, I don't think it's all that odd.

At the minute current situation I'll take 2 years at best and hopefully and extensionย

You were moaning we wouldnโ€™t give him a 3 year deal in your other post I quoted.ย

You need to troll more consistently ๐Ÿ˜‰

Not moaning.

I said I didn't think we would, it's an opinionย ๐Ÿ˜‰

One which was correct too.

See Sam Barnes has joined the PFA pre season training thing. Assuming heโ€™s been released from Barrow after not really featuring for them. Patrick Bauer also on there. Iโ€™m sure heโ€™s one we were linked to many moons ago.ย

Angus Gunn also on the list. Wouldnโ€™t be the worst shout if Pears leaves as a back up keeper.ย

I think he could probably come in as number one.

Surprised he hadn't been picked up.

And ex-Rover Sam Lavelle

Thereโ€™s a podcast (think itโ€™s called โ€œI had trialsโ€ or something) with him on last week, talking about it, plus his experiences at rovers.

More than linked to, pretty sure we were close to signing him if memory serves.

30 is nothing in the modern game, physioย  and modern methods of recovery are a lot bettern than in the past, when the recovery process was a pint or 5 in the players lounge,im`e surprised he signed at all tbh,the lad must have been desperate to get away from hull

True, and especially in terms of sell-on value, you're absolutely correct.

Lads a liability, we need another CB that's for sure.ย

Anyone regularly watch the U21s and able to say how close or not Atcheson is from being able to cover on the bench or for a few games?

He said that we are open to another centre back without committing to saying we will get one, mentioning priorities. We really do need one. Carter is unfortunately a sick note who cant be relied upon.

Absolute crock - has cost him a PL job I think.ย

Having watched the game today the two glaring problems for me are starting RW and backup CM (assuming Tavares is actually any good).

We can probably quite happily alternate DeNeves and Kargbo on the left (with Leonard / Ohashi et al rotating in there as the season goes on). On the right though you simply can't go into the season with Hedges as your starter - he offers nothing going forward (but yes I'll concede he works hard to protect his FB).ย

At CM, especially playing this system, you're going to run into the same problem we had at around December last year - we're going to run Tronstad and Travis into the ground. We need two good backups - let's say Tavares is one and Forshaw / Montgomery (I doubt it to be honest) rotate as the 5th option. You need another good player in there who can start midweek without a second thought from the manager - whether that lad from the Swiss league is it I don't know.ย

Buckley needs to be shipped out.ย

Bonus points if you can also snag a striker who can run in behind.ย

Also Wharton is chronically injured, and while Hyam was ever present last season he had serious injury issues year before.

Does feel like we are very light if we dont get one more senior CB.ย
