bigbrandjohn Posted yesterday at 15:29 Posted yesterday at 15:29 Some of our movements were excellent, and how great to have accurate crosses from the wing hit a target man. We are still a little hesitant in front of goal, and although we have some very good passing ideas, we don’t seem to weightthe balls perfectly so that we can keep the game flowing Semantic points, what a great result and how good is it that our target man has hit three in two games. Confidence and momentum is a beautiful thing 36 minutes ago, kiithwarrior said: Agree tbh, we gave the ball away a lot in the midfield 4 Quote
sharpysharps86 Posted yesterday at 15:29 Posted yesterday at 15:29 Brilliant win, just what was required. Delighted for Gudjohnsen. Toth superb. A bit of momentum can go a long way in this league, hopefully Rovers can string some more results together and pull away from trouble. 3 Quote
Paul Mellelieu Posted yesterday at 15:35 Posted yesterday at 15:35 A hard working performance with two well-taken goals. A good effort from meagre ingredients, which is why it will be toad-in-the hole tonight, Quote
wilsdenrover Posted yesterday at 15:37 Posted yesterday at 15:37 With a bit less rain we could have had 9 points from last season’s PL teams. 4 Quote
TimmyJimmy Posted yesterday at 15:40 Posted yesterday at 15:40 Oh my. Totally unexpected. What a great feeling, 2 in 2. Calls for something strong tonight but with a bit of quality. I'm taking about beer by the way before you start making lewd comments! Quote

If he’s in the box he’ll score goals! He missed a few good chances before he scored, keep getting in the right position and you'll bag eventually. Now he's found his touch, I'm looking forward to seeing him link up with Cantwell. Edited 23 hours ago by M_B Quote

Exiled_Rover Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago I've been critical of Montgomery, but he's been good the last two substitute appearances. Forshaw was well off it, sadly. 1 Quote
B16Rover Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Snagged an away ticket today and thoroughly enjoyed it. How Pears kept Toth out is beyond me. A very steady Eddie between the sticks. Abeliousu to me looks like he's starting to tire but still got a well worked assist. Hedges and De Neve are a solid like for like to have and I felt the early sub helped cohesion and stopped the annual 60 minute collapse I don't think the Leicester front 3 were used to 3 physical centre halves and our lads played their hand well Hickman and Tronstad both lumped it a few times when they didn't need to, both are feeling a solid 6 or 7 out of 10 this year but neither have had an 8 performance Henriksen is a walking booking but his physicality helps. A fairly forgettable performance besides (from my seat at least!) Glad for Gudjohnsen, good poachers performance. Ohashi worked hard too which is a shock to no one. As a note on the fans, the rovers fans were a solid performance despite limited numbers. The Leicester fans are bonkers. I get concourses get busy but a good 10% of the attendance was going for a pint at the 35th minute mark. I was behind enemy lines again today but they felt extremely toxic a fan base. 1 Quote
aletheia Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Excellent win –well done lads. Ohashi was excellent throughout, holding up the ball and stopping them developing play high up the pitch (would love him to score). Gud seems a sniffer in the box so cannot focus too much on other aspects of his game if he is scoring. De Neve (shedloads of criticism on here of late) was very good first half. Toth wonderful, kept us in it. Thought we were very good for the last 30 mins and Leicester were dire offering nothing. We may not always have the quality but there was clear desire (cf. Miller’s reaction at the end) whilst Leicester had nothing. Ref had a good game - McLoughlin thinks so 😉 Foot off the gas for the next away game to go full blooded for the Derby game? Quote

Bohinen1983 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Thought De Neve and Henriksson did well, quite surpised their ratings are so low.. Makhtar did well to say he was only on the pitch for 5 minutes- unlucky not to score. Gudjohnsen has a solid game, Ohashi was excellent- could see his confidence growing. Special shout out to Scotty Wharton, Toth and Miller- tremendous performances. 1 Quote

Not helped by TGH who I thought was poor today. Henriksson currently gets a yellow every 2.8 games. That well known calming influence Lewis Travis went for 1 every 4 with Rovers by comparison. I think Henriksson is finding the pace a bit too much at the moment. As for Mak - that cameo demonstrated exactly why he shouldn’t be anywhere near the starting XI IMO. He’s simply a ball of chaos. 3 Quote
Ghost7 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago It's nearly every team so far this season that can't handle Alebiosu. Excellent to have someone that can stand defenders up and run at them with pace. Really pleased for Gudjohnsen and glad the manager stuck with him. Two outstanding results but so much more to do. Hopefully there's more to come from this team. Quote
Popular Post Paul Mellelieu Posted 22 hours ago Popular Post Posted 22 hours ago (edited) I think Alebiosu is nudging ahead of the lad who went to 'Boro. Edited 22 hours ago by Paul Mellelieu 15 Quote
superniko Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago If I was to be negative about anything, which feels harsh after that performance, then I’d say I’m not fully convinced about McLoughlin, Gardner-Hickman or Morishita. Toth, Wharton, Alebiosu all immense. De Neve and Miller good, Montgomery putting in some very good cameos in the middle, Ohashi non-stop and Gudjohnson can find the net. If Baradji is a hit, Cantwell comes back in form and we can improve where we need in January (which we never do) then I’ll start to think we’ve got a team that can develop into something here. Quote

Ball of chaos almost scored. Sometimes a ball of chaos is a good strategy to disrupt the opponent’s defence and force them to rethink. 1 Quote
Waggy76 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Excellent performance today ! Looked like a team for once ! Quote
Bbrovers2288 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago It’s a great battling win but Leicester had a massive off day, they should have at least scored 1, we can’t control games as our midfield aren’t good enough in possession and it’s causing a lot of stress on our back line to hold up with the other teams possession/attack. It worked today but I’m not naive to think on another day Leicester win that easy. Hickman and henriksson are really limited as footballers, il be honest , I don’t know what our scouts no team saw in either. Tronstadt has been fairly poor this year, our passing is woeful in the middle. i will hold my hands up and say de neve is actually fine, I criticised him at the start of the year but I think he is better than kargbo and hedges going forward. Needs to learn to be a bit more defensive if we stick by this formation. Morishita is clearly a good footballer, but he needs to get up to the pace and physicality if he is going to be effective . happy to see Andri grab a couple, as I said earlier he is limited but if all he is , is a finisher then it’s fine, goals win games. gueye isn’t good enough, he needs moved on in January and us to get an adequate other option up top. clearly our three best players are toth, alebiosu and cantwell when he is fit. We are going to lean on them all heavily this season as we don’t have a great deal of quality elsewhere but I will enjoy the win tonight and the 2 on the bounce this just about gives us a bit of breathing space 1 Quote
Cherry Blue Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago First goal was partly down to bad defending but more so down to Gudjohnson's anticipation. His second goal was pure class made by Alebiosu's ability. Wharton was solid but my mom was Toth. Other team members played their part, some more than other, but three outstanding performances plus the away fans contribution have made today a very good day. Quote
