He doesn't set us up well defensively.

Everyone cuts us to ribbons on the counter. I'm amazed he's an ex-CB.

I was meaning his subs, when he signed for Rovers his previous clubs fans said he was atrocious with subs. I recall on a Watford forum someone saying, you're playing well then he subs on 3 players at 60 minutes, with no thought given to the quality or position of said players, and then you have 30+ minutes of defending attack after attack when he's fucked up the gameplan.

7  costing us 7 points, with those we’d be 1 point of the play offs.

Is it just the 7 points? I can think of 7 points from 4 goals.

2 v Birmingham 3 points

1 v Wrexham 2 points

1 v Ipswich 2 points.

I’m fuming but I did say ‘the most inevitable defeat’ and we got a point, which obviously should be 3, but that’s 4 points off the bottom 3 with a few teams between us.

Think we’ll be ok but we desperately need a routine win at weekend now

Positives tonight in that Pratt looks right at home, Andri continues to score, Cantwell back on the pitch

De Neve and the manager the big negatives

Just seen the replay of that last minute. We get the corner , get 3 men round the ball  and Gueye plays it off one of theirs for another corner. Ref gives a goal kick and the rest we know.

What with the red card and that last minute fiasco you just wonder if we are cursed somehow this season

We shouldn’t let Miller off the hook either. It was his horrendous kick up field to their player which started the move for the equaliser. All he had to do was whack it in row z or find a teammate.

We concede so many late goals. We are weak mentally, poorly organised and cannot concentrate for 90 mins. That's what our level of investment and our dud of a manager gets you.

Magical substitutions again from Val, is he drawing lots in the dugout to decide who, where and when?

Why have we taken off the only player capable of scoring, again? Gueye is getting worse every week. Complete passenger, embarrassment to the shirt. Did absolutely f-all and then was trying to "gee up" the Blackburn end when it was still 1-0, he wouldn't get in a league one side.

Referee wasn't great so that will be Val's ready made excuse.

The starting eleven is just about good enough for this level (just!), but the rest of the squad is dogger.

Sick of watching away fans celebrating at Ewood every home game. The atmosphere is miserable at Ewood because the club is miserable at every level. Thanks Val, Rudy, Pasha and Venkys 👍

I think we'll just about scrape by, but we're bloody unlucky at times, get nothing from the refs and clearly only have about a 15 man squad.

That's not bad luck that's negligence on the part of the manager, recruitment, board and owners.

For me its a triple fault/blame game.

1) Ref - very erratic to the point that it had an impact on the game. Commentators said worst refereeing they'd seen in ages and whilst it's not the sole reason it contributed to our defeat.

Not that this excuses the team because the next two issues solidly are on us.

2) Game management. You don't have to have played in the championship to clock how to see out a game. Its not rocket science from pub leagues to the premiership. Even if it is experience and mentality our manager is meant to y'know instill those things in the players. For so many late goals and this not to be addressed is negligent on the managers part. Oh and not subbing on a left back when we have 2 adequate ones is also criminally stupid.

3) A weak squad. Surprisingly our first 11 or 14 seemingly can go toe to toe with most teams in the division.  We are seeing that on a weekly basis. The problem is a third of our squad really isn't of tje required standard. That most of the below standard players are recent additions is appalling and a huge inditement of Gestedes inability in the role. Not since Kean days have we had so many obviously below par players. A worrying sign.

We have two actual left backs on the bench though! Why are they even in the matchday squad if they’re not going to be used in this exact scenario!

If you’re going to drop someone in for the last 10 minutes for Hedges it goes Pickering, Ribiero, a random bloke in the Jack Walker, then De Neve.

As others have said, it’s like they’re trying to justify the transfer policy by only playing Gestede players.

EDIT: Pickering not even in the squad, point still stands re: Ribiero

I guess the view (which i can see merit in) is Riberio doesn't have the engine for wing back.

But... considering we were protecting a lead and De Neve had recently lost his man for a goal at the death, I agree Riberio would have been the more sensible choice to come on for the last 15 mins.

For what it's worth, I don't see that Ipswich team getting promoted. Our ragtag bunch of randoms have been objectively better than them in both matches we've played against them this season. Expect Coventry will carve them up at the weekend if that's the level they're at.

If we don't beat Sheffield Wednesday at Ewood then we are in trouble.

Could cost us so,so dearly season end.

I fear the same. A sign of a very poor team.

Genuinely unsure when we last scored an injury time goal to rescue a game. Yet we have thrown away goals in injury time multiple times already this season.

Out of interest as it doesn't say because it was even longer back... when was the last winner we scored in the 90th minute or later?

But we have been told our squad is stronger than last season. 😐🔫

As hard to take as it is, we can't afford to feel sorry for ourselves, got probably the 2 biggest games of the season coming up in Sheff Weds and Oxford, both of which will be tough games. Need to play as well as we have the last 2 and we should be ok but you never know

I've seen enough over the past couple of weeks to be fairly comfortable that we'll avoid the drop.

And I take solace in the face that the points dropped will likely be the difference between finishing 16th and 18th.

In case it's not clear from my tone, I'm not overly bothered either way. Seeing the equalisers this week has been disappointing but not the heartbreak it once was.

Oh well, onto the next one... I suppose.

Unbelievable that this should happen twice in 4 days. Poor game management sitting back and poor substitutions (maybe if we’re trying to preserve the 3 points just leave your best players on despite them being knackered?). That being said it’s also rotten luck and the performances overall have deserved more than the 2 points we have taken this week. It’s also an excellent point in isolation when you compare the depth of both sides and if you’re honest pretty much everyone had us down to lose tonight (myself included). Similar to Saturday the lads did well but were let down by the pitiful squad depth again. The owners and their stooges as always are to blame! I feel sorry for the players as they are working hard and I have mixed feelings regarding Val. I really look at our squad and see a side who should be comfortably relegated. We are comfortably exceeding my very low expectations. Add in the injuries and hectic schedule and the 2 points this week are actually pretty impressive. Although it stings like hell, I think fairness and perspective matter.
