There is simply no excuse for the debacle. The inevitable sanctions from the FA will only serve to further dismay the already battered and disheartened faithful few, whilst the publicity is just another golden opportunity for those who would revel in our misfortune to have a free hit at our once proud club.

The situation cannot go on (but we all know that it will) because the root cause continues to fester like an unpleasant chronic illness. The longer it goes on, the more inevitable it feels that it will become terminal for Blackburn Rovers. I am beginning to believe that this is actually the intention of the absent and despicable temporary landlords in the owners' box. The sooner they are gone, the better.

It's been bad for years. Game against Preston a few years ago was shocking and that's 3 or 4 now in 2 years. Lack of investment and club management.

I wonder if the ground being close to the river, has anything to do with the saturated pitch. We need to have a serious discussion in the Summer, and sort some decent drainage system out at Ewood. We've been warned about the abandonment and waterlogged pitch.

I led to believe being next to the river shouldn't be an issue.  I was down Pleasington playing fields both yesterday and today with local matches being played OK.  The river Darwen runs right through here and these are just rec fields and doubt they have any drainage.  I didn't think they were that saturated really, certainly nothing out of the ordinary for this time of year.

In cricket, if it rains, they bring the covers on to protect the pitch.

How much do tarpaulins cost? Covering just the centre of the pitch where most play occurs would help even if you can't afford more than one for the wings.

Rain is forecastable days ahead. Covering the ground beforehand to stop the turf being totally saturated gives it the capacity to soak up 90 minutes worth of rain on the day.

IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE!

Organisation and a bit of forethought is all that's required n'est pas. Oh, wait a minute, this is Venky Rovers, I forgot, my bad.
