Seems the Oxford forum have more information on pitch inspections than we have due to lack of communication out of Ewood.

More likely then to play safe and call off?

Had the usual email at around midday today re the match -no hint of cancellation.

Would be so much better for the fans and players if they just called it now

let those who are working and doing their day jobs know in advance to prevent them arriving to find out it’s being abandoned after 15mins or whatever

Heavy ground plus too many games in too short a period = hamstrings. Good job we have a huge squad of top players (not).

Balancing all considerations a 14:00 postponement is the best outcome for us.  The rest day won't come amiss for tired legs.

Live to fight another day.

Couldn’t agree more but we are never that lucky 😞

Strong southerly wind blowing to help the pitch dry, skies clearing, 🤞

River Darwen levels currently running at same height as Saturday 4.30pm levels. Needs to drop quickly to help pitch to drain.

Blackburn Rovers in 2025 have fans frantically checking rain graphs, scouring other fans forums for information and measuring river flows. If somebody told me even 5 years ago this was going to be the case I would have probably walked away and never looked back.

I looked at the river at 12.15. It was running fast but wasn't above the bottom of the drain quite.

It's cleared right up in Lancaster and no further rain forecast, assuming Blackburn isn't too dissimilar you'd think with the wind and the time to kick off the pitch would have sufficient time to drain into the river

My increasing dad jokes are a further sign of these desperate times!

At least I avoided signing off with "I'll get my (rain)coat"

The Venkys Rain continues...

Weather and Radar looking clear for the duration of the game down to the current state of the pitch now.

So no rain due, just need the groundsman on there now and get this game on

I love how we’ve all become weather forecasters. Rovers should launch their own weather forecast news and I wouldn’t mind joining up!

On Rovers TV 🤣🤣

And now... the weather 🤣

Is it cheaper for the club to

1-proceed with the game and hope it isn’t called off

2-proceed with the game and expect it to get abandoned

3-call it off in advance and go for a replay

Bit of blue sky coming through now, rain was torrential an hour or two ago, but seems to have stopped.

Presuming it doesn't start up again now, there are literally no excuses for this match not to go ahead.
