The complete lack of any communication from the club is appalling today. Just tell people what’s happening for God’s sake! Even if no decision has been made and we are waiting for a further pitch inspection then tell the people this. Oxford is a hell of a drive and they deserve to be kept up to date to inform their decision of whether the drive or not. Travelling in this weather is not without any risk and surely it’s their duty to keep people informed. Incredibly amateur and the overwhelming impression is that they are choosing to ignore the situation to save face.

They are just incompetent, they just don’t want to admit that there is anything out of the ordinary going on and hence, the radio silence. As far as they are concerned, the line is we have just been unlucky with the weather and so this Oxford match is just business as normal ! I’m really hoping it is called off, with everything going on off the pitch and the injury situation, we could do with a postponement finally going in our favour.

According to an Oxford Messageboard about 10 minutes ago, the stewards on the coaches have been told the game is on.

Which contradicts another Oxford fan mentioning a 5 ‘o’ clock reassessment.

If only those who know for sure would share with us…

Whether (geddit?) or not the match goes ahead, one thing is almost certain: that the uncertainty will mean the attendance is likely to be among the lowest in the modern era. Sub 8,000 is my prediction, though of course the official figure will be higher.

The resident statto wildesdenover will provide the relevant figures in due course.

It’s actually insane that we’re reliant on intel from the Oxford bus stewards as to whether the game is going ahead.

Venky’s and Suhail’s Rovers: not giving a shit about the fans since 2010.

Ridiculous that thats how we find out the game is going ahead instead of communication from the club

Mental that rovers fans are dependent on some second hand information from, no offence to them but Oxford fans who are looking to get a bus to Lanc, it is crazy

the club need to seriously get a grip on its fan communication

In resp to emails this lunchtime, the Club were saying 'tonight's game is on'.

No response to a follow up request for them to state this publicly, or to give a brief website update on the state of the pitch, tho....

The club is treating this matter with the utmost seriousness and is committed to doing everything in its power to address the current concerns regarding the pitch, while balancing time constraints, the congested fixture schedule and the significant financial implications involved.

However, we also recognise that weather conditions can present challenges that are, at times, beyond the club’s control.

They take so long to do anything, don’t they? Making decisions, announcements, sending faxes.

Such a set of dithering dickheads.
