Easter Weekend Preview.

The Easter weekend sees Blackburn play against two teams with contrasting ambitions. On Saturday Rovers visit Old Trafford to play Manchester United, who are challenging for the Premier League Championship, whilst on Easter Monday Rovers welcome Bolton to Ewood Park, a team that are fighting to avoid relegation to the Nationwide League.

After drawing with Arsenal midweek, United will be desperate to collect maximum points against Rovers to keep ahead of the Gunners. At the same time as United play Rovers, Bolton play fellow relegation candidates West Ham at the Reebok Stadium on Saturday. A defeat against the Hammers would see Bolton equal on points with the third bottom team.

Whilst both United and Bolton will be desperate to gain maximum points against Rovers, to keep up their challenge or avoid relegation, both these games against United and Bolton could have a major impact on Blackburn’s season as they aim for at least sixth position in the league in order to qualify for the UEFA Cup.

With the exception of long term injured David Thompson, Graeme Souness has an injury free squad to select from, for Saturdays game, and it’s expected that he will retain the same team that beat Fulham and Charlton.

Expected line up.

Friedel, Neill, Berg, Short, Gresko, Dunn, Flitcroft, Tugay, Duff, Sukar, Cole.

Discuss these games further on the Message Board.
