The future of locally born Blackburn Rovers player, David Dunn now lies in his own hands, after Rovers accepted Birmingham City’s bid for the player today.

A number of clubs were reported to be interested in the midfielder after he refused an extension to his current contract at the end of the season. However it would appear that only Birmingham made a firm offer, for the midfielder who has gained one England international cap.

Unsubstantiated reports this morning (2.7.2003) suggest that Middlesbrough have made a last minute bid for Dunn.

Dunn, who progressed through Blackburn’s youth system, achieved every supporters dream of playing for their home club, decided this afternoon where his loyalties lie, when he agreed to sign for Birmingham City.

Subject to passing a medical Dunn will sign a four year contract, joining up with former Rovers players Damian Johnson and Jeff Kenna at Birmingham.
