Three On The Bounce

Blackburn Rovers seventh away win of the season captured three vital points that move the club to 40 points, 13th in the table and close to Premiership survival after a traumatic season.

Both keepers had outstanding games with Friedel producing superb saves from efforts by Watson and Radzinski, Nigel Martyn denied the Rovers with excellent stops from Craig Short and Jonathan Stead. Match reports suggest this was an exciting, open game with plenty of chances at both ends. Everton pushed forward for much of the second half but Rovers counter-attacked well with Jon Stead clinching the points in the 81st minute heading home an Andy Cole cross for his sixth goal in ten appearances.
