Brownie
Radio Lancs said they rang up a fan who was watching the game to ask for the players name and apprently it sounds like 'Pato' but they couldn't confirm this. Is Mark Patterson still playing ? I heard a fan called John Pittard? on Radio Lancs about 6.10 phoning rom germany - I didn't know about any mystery trialist till just now. The name he used sounded very like "Mounir el Hamdaoui" At 7 o'clock R Lancs said the name sounded like Pato

Lee
John Pittard was the other guy giving me updates from Schorndorf. and wait till I tell my mate Pato that people think he's playing for Rovers! The youngster from Stockport hasn't gone over, methinks Jordan has been on the poppenbrau a little too much! ta Lee

rebelzero
whoever he is, if he's scoring goals, then it's fine by me. Although I would find the irony of said player's name to actually be "Trialist" very compelling...

roversWASmylife
Never heard of him. It’s good that we have won, but it’ll all about get the match fitness in the first couple of games of pre-season in my opinion then the results. I’m glad that we have won as it can only create confidence amongst everyone, I don’t know how good or how bad the opposition are, like to hear from the views of the fans of the board who managed to see the game. Alan75
Well Sky dont seem to know who it was. Of more interest was the fact that an unnamed trialist found the net on two occasions after being introduced as a second half substitute and Rovers fans are sure to be keen to find out who the mystery man is. bob fleming
Who is the trialist who scored two goals? maradona anyone? I asked Admin on the official MB and he says his identity cannot be disclosed. So in summary. Rovers aren't saying - and they've done a good job... 1. Orvil Jordon Esq - "Andy Welsh" 2. John Pittard Esq - "Mounir el Handryer" 3. Radio Lancs - "Pato Banton" 4. Sky Sports - "Anwar Patel" 5. Sky Sports again - "We don't know" 6. Lancashire Evening Telegraph - "Who cares? burnley have signed a keeper" Tremendous stuff. Well done to all concerned. grizfoot
I Think it's clever of Rovers to not announance the name of the trialist because we don't want other clubs after him do we. We may have come across i gem here.
herbergeehh
Hm.. didn't you know someone who were at the game Paul ? And perhaps this person could describe the player? For example, this player from Excelsior - he's black right? Maybe the person at the game could tell us whether the player is black or white? How was this player introduced anyway, "on for Jonathan Stead comes A. Trialist" ??
