AndyC
Seen as though he gets so many 'scoops' with our club, I thought we could have our very aown 'alan nixon watch' Everytime he posts a 'scoop' it can be put into this thread & we can see how worng he actually was. first up is his story about flitcroft in the starting XI this week. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/sporttop/tm_...-name_page.html ------------------------------------------------ GARRY SET TO FLIT IN AGAIN By Alan Nixon GARRY FLITCROFT will be brought in from the cold by Blackburn Rovers caretaker boss Tony Parkes - after his row with Graeme Souness. Long-serving Flitcroft was stunned to be stripped of the captaincy and his squad number after a disagreement with former manager Souness. But Parkes will put Flitcroft back into the heart of midfield alongside Barry Ferguson against Newcastle on Saturday, with the chance to prove the new Toon Army chief wrong. Flitcroft was the most surprising of the players frozen out by Souness. Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole and Andy Todd had all fallen foul of the hard-line manager. But Flitcroft came in for the treatment for no apparent reason, although insiders reveal there was a dispute over a going-away party for a player at the end of last season. Cocker
I dont think that the story is too unbelevable. We may even see Matty on the bench too.
Scotty
I hope Mr Nixon's right. Flitcroft and Ferguson is our best central midfield combination imo, especially away from home.

mjs
Seems Mr Nixon is not that much of a **** after all. Personally I don't mind the man, he has always spoke reasonably well of Rovers whenever I have heard him.
rover6
When was Flitcroft stripped of his squad number? If I'm not mistaken, he has already made one starting appearance this season.
Jimbo
Yep - 1st half vs Southampton where he was particularly poor
Radagast
I assume it means the fact that he lost his no. 7 shirt to Emerton.

AndyC
flitcroft is long past it in my opnion. he drifts out of the game far too much & doesn't have the legs anymore. get tugay in and lets have a go at them. None of this containment rubbish. pederson, tugay, fergie and emerton and lets give them hell.
RoverDrake
Flitcroft gives 110% and loves the club but I think we really have to move on and let other midfielders have a chance (Donnelly, Douglas etc.) I mean Barry Ferguson can play the holding midfield role, allowing the likes of Thompson, Tugay even Donnelly to roam forward. Plus Douglas is basically just a younger version of Flitty, just minus the womanising element.
John
Sorry if this has been posted already. Link to speculation on Gally. http://www.people.co.uk/sport/tm_objectid=...-name_page.html
tchocky
Sounds like a good move to me. 1 month up north to get match fit, thats if he gets played of course. On the other hand, Mark Hughes probably hasn't seen much of him, so to expect him to chuck Gally in when he comes bakc match fit is perhaps too much to ask. T4E
If Gally goes on loan for a couple of months then great, but we certainly shouldnt be looking to have him leave permanently. As long as he doesnt go to Burnley
American
Oh, but I thought his lack of games was due to Souness and him having a bust up.... He should be coming off the bench to give us a good burst of energy late, like he did last season.
blackburnbrfc
Gally wouldnt go to Burnley don't worry, and I doubt very much he will go anywhere on loan for the forseeable future due to his girlfriend due to give birth very soon.
