Ipsy, also how do you know that 10 people were banned last week, this has not been reported in the press to my knowledge.

That link goes to something about burglars.

But yup the online edition gave the name and addresses of 10 banned..their argument being they couldn't afford a defence.

Others are awaiting judgement.

Driving past the gardens of Malta's psychiatric hospital yesterday, there was a chubby guy walking round in voluminous pale blue baggy shorts, Rab C Nebitt string vest, what looked like a white tea cosy on his head and holding a fully open burbery umbrella aloft (the weather was hazy sunshine).

For a moment I thought it must have been BRFCC paying me a visit.

With this subject I have to say that im going to get behind no nay never and brfcc because of a little thing called "innocent until proven guilty". Ive not read anywhere that these lads have actually been filmed or caught fighting with opposing fans. I think that the police should look into the matter alot more because they are wasting the tax payers money by arresting and guiding around innocent football fans. On a couple of occasions I have been surrounded outside a train station and escorted to certain grounds. I have never wanted to engage in violence just go about doing what any other normal 18 year old does. I find this pathetic because it is totally inconvenient to me and totally ruins a day out. The police should be spending this money on doing their homework and not just wasting their time i'm sure many fans have had this problem and thats why i can understand the police just grabbing the lads in question.

A lot of policing at football is prevention rather than cure, hence guiding and escorting fans to grounds from railway stations/bus stations etc.

Whilst it may be slightly inconvenient for your average joe, it is much less inconvenient that getting your head kicked in by mindless thugs.

Im not convinced that the vast majority of people who have commented have individualised it, the police have evidence (of whatever type) against people and in has been presented to a court. So it's not trial by jury, big deal - a judge is not able to give banning orders without evidence. People have been condemning the topic in general rather than any individuals.

Yeah they do have 'evidence' but it most of it relates to association. Things like 'you were seen with such a person in the ewood arms' or 'you were walking down livesey branch road in a large group when a group of liverpool risk supporters were at the other end'. A lot of this could be said about any groups of young male rovers supporters, but these lads also happen to wear casual clothing, which immediately alerts the attention of the police.

But that's the point Dave. They shouldn't have to convince the magistrate they are innocent, the prosecution should have to convince them they are guilty.

I know one day that you all are going to die. Should I kill you now to prevent that?

Good point American! Just can't see why everyone else on this post are slating the lads when we haven't seen any concrete evidence of involvement.

I'm sure the local magistrate(s) is (are) unbiased.

Convince them, and you'll convince me.

Blooody hell , Dave , the police force and judiciary in Australia must be absolutely fantastic for you to come out with a comment like that ( you call me right wing !). Over here , unfortunately , the legal system is a joke , neither concerned with justice nor fairness.

I'm with you on this one blackburnbrfc,I find it bl00dy ridiculous.

If I enter the Jubilee pub at 2:00pm does that make me part of the

'lads' who frequent in there and are well known to the police..the hell it does!

If I choose to wear Stone island,Lacoste or Paul 'n' shark are they right to suspect me of being a casual....are they sh1te!

Why don't you wear replica shirts? That would throw 'em right off the scent.

Whoa ah there is some bloody idiotic comments on here especially the post above.

Are those defending the 17 privvy to having seen the evidence?

Aye , but those sharks defending the 17 probably want paying a grand or so before they cast a glance at the "evidence" - I wonder if legal aid is available ?

I'll ignore the first paragraph , Don wink.gif

Your veiws could be seen as discriminating to people who like to wear a certain type of clothing South Aussie rover. Just because people like to dress up in clothes which they feel decent in means that they are gonna kick the feck out of opposition fans? I think not. This is the only type of evidence that is cropping up on this post and to me that sounds pathetic! Maybe this example is a bit extreme but do you view all muslims as terrorists just because there is a minority who want to destroy the world?

as it happens i have seen the "evidence" video and would defend the people involved on the strength of what i've seen.

a 1 hour 10 minute long video, the culmination of over 6 years constant filming and there is absolutley nothing on it that would convict anyone on it of a criminal offence, highlights include 3 men eating a burger/kebab each outside pyramids kebab house on darwen st. on a saturday afternoon(although they should be arrested for eating kebabs sober in daylight hours tongue.gif ),a near 5 minute clip of 4 men playing doubles at pool in the griffin pub.i kid you not, this is the official police video,as for the rest of it,3 men walking into pub,4 men drinking together in pub etc etc etc etc etc.

it's certainly no football factory dry.gif

Have you really?

I doubt it.

thats where we differ though,i have seen the video which has been issued to all the people that are charged with the banning orders, wheras you don't know any facts behind the case as a whole or any of the individual cases.

the "incidents" that i mention are in the video,100% fact.

i've also read several of the individual reports that have been given to the people involved, which is basically more of the same which is in the video ie. nothing.

i tend not to give views on subjects that i don't know any of the facts behind, maybe others would do well to do the same.
