  1. Exactly, all away. Very rare we put a side to the sword at Ewood. Though forget a hammering, even routine wins (or this season, wins at all) don’t come around very often.

  2. The way Bellingham plays and talks is like someone whose been playing for 15 years. Still only 20, he will be a big big player for England

  3. A pointless exercise. It won't make a jot of difference.

  4. It was the same style top that John Lennon wore in the ‘Help’ video. I had my trusty Adidas Japan trainers on mate, Bruno Maglis too good for gigs 😉

  5. More money that won't be reinvested in the squad.

  6. We're £25m richer though, which is the main thing for our CEO.

  9. What top was that? Were you rocking a nice pair of Bruno Maglis?

  10. Yes I know we are rock bottom. So what's the solution? Just hand over the ground to whoever wants it and shrug shoulders? Or make the effort to get more home fans in, and fill the ground up a bit that way?

  11. We've got two teams who've struggled this season and are where we are for a reason - clown ownerships and lack of investment. Also those fans of ours who constantly spout along the lines of 'if only we had 20k every week' need to look at Wednesday to see it means nothing if you are still run by fools. Anyway on our day and them on their day we are the stronger better side so we should take that mentality into the game but seeing as this is the championship and anything can happen from one day to the next..... 13. They’ve won 1 of their last 6 matches and are 22nd in the form table (for that period)

  14. I get to an extent why people might adopt the attitude on Sigurdsson that he might be better in his second season having adapted and having been unlucky with injuries etc. But you've been "really impressed" with him? What about him? Slow, soft, cant beat a man, ducks out of challenges and after an initial flurry stopped being a goal threat. I think Pickering is our most underrated player, nothing special but more dependable than Brittain. Chrisene has provided reasonable cover but no way is he better. We do need cover for both but I suspect lack of money will be excused with rubbish about not blocking pathways and versatility to cover not signing a couple of players. We cant just release Vale and Telalovic, hopefully someone will come in for both for a nominal fee.

  15. I tried to think of how I'd look at our priorities in the summer, but I'm struggling because so much of it depends on if/how we decide we want to play. We talk a lot on here about whether player X, Y or Z is good enough, but I think a bigger problem we have is that we have a squad that clearly haven't been assembled to fit a certain way of playing. Letting Travis go on loan was a shocking decision, but then there's no point keeping him if we want our midfielders to play like Wharton. Similarly, there's no point in keeping Gallagher if we're not going to play to his strengths (which then wouldn't really suit Dolan and Markanday, etc.). I don't especially care how we play, just so long as we start recruiting in a way which is a bit less scattergun and more strategic. Having said all that, I think you're completely right about needing a new keeper, and we're at least one full back short. I don't hate our midfield options if we're going to be playing a more Travis-friendly game. We need another centre back if we're playing 3 there, but Hyam Wharton and Carter are all decent options in a standard set-up and I wouldn't be spending our limited resources on an upgrade. The big question marks are in attack. We definitely need more quality there to either help or replace Szmodics, but who we go for (and who we let go) for me is a function of how we want to play. Must say that you rate Siggy more highly than I do. He has ability, but he lets far too many games pass him by. Beyond his fairly average goal return, I don't think he's contributed anything really.

  16. Surely doing both is the best option. There are many, many sticks to beat Waggott with but I don't believe maximising the number of away attendees is one of them. His failings with regard to home ticket sales is well documented and mostly true and that point can be rightly laid firmly at his door.

  17. Cause and effect going on there though. Maybe the grounds with the biggest crowds are also the clubs that can afford to buy the best players? I'm pretty sceptical of massive away followings making much of a difference. How many times have we brought 4 - 6k to PNE, Wigan and Bolton over the last ten years or so and still underperformed? I'm just looking forward to seeing Ewood a bit more full to honest.

  18. I agree with regard to season ticket sales and the new TV deal is more likely to decrease sales rather than increase them. I looked at Sunderland and Leeds with 40,000 and 30,000 plus on each ground and fans paying £30 + per ticket. I'm going to have to pay £33 at Leicester and that's an OAP price! FFP makes it almost impossible to compete income wise over the course of a 46 game season. Hence, I can understand why we will try to fill the Darwen End whenever we can.

  19. To be fair to Leeds they did a good deed today. They went into Leeds city centre, found 2 down and outs bin dipping and gave them an afternoon out at the football. They didn't have time to arrange a shave and clean up but its the thought that counts.
