  1. Blue Bruce liking my post from 2 years ago drew me back to this thread so I thought I would do an update. We took delivery of a new MG5 on a two year lease last May and have done nearly 8,000 miles - we are both retired and now with one car only but we travel quite a bit and are in London a lot on the train. The MG5 is at the cheaper end of the EV market but it has been perfectly good for us. We get 250-275 miles range, dropping to c220 in the winter, which is very good. With CCS charge capability longer trips are no problem at all now. Driving to London a couple of times we have just stopped once for 15-20 minutes to charge, which frankly is what we would have done anyway for a wee and a coffee. In fact most times we have come back to the car to find more charge than we planned to get. We sold our 6 year old Renault Zoe for £6,800 in September. It had been an excellent choice and no doubt still is for the new owner. As a second car it was the one we always used as first choice going anywhere in a 50 mile range of home. Given it was an early model it only had a Type C charger and a fairly small range (140-200 miles) it was more awkward for longer journeys as the charging was slow. But we had it as a sole car for 9 months and it was fine. I visit a number of travel websites and often travellers will ask about the practicality of hiring an electric car in the U.K. You inevitably get a string of people saying how it’s wholly impractical, there aren’t enough chargers, lots of them are broken etc etc. All posted by people who have never driven an EV and who refuse to accept any contrary advice from those who have. The reality is that now driving an EV is perfectly fine, as long as you have somewhere regular to charge it near home. A charger at home is the obvious best plan but I realise not everyone can do that. But there are schemes for home chargers to be shared and street charging is getting more available too. We use Ecotricity for our home fuel and they now have an overnight rate of 7.5p per KWh so the fuel cost for nearly all our driving is ridiculously cheap. And the electricity is all renewable for us. And also, discounting all the environmental and economic reasons EVs are just so much more enjoyable to drive.
  2. I don't think I get your point Hasta. The club currently make the great majority of their streaming profit from UK sales and they will be losing that. Overseas sales are small, as you might probably expect.
  3. I know nothing about the costs involved, but presumably the club will be filming the games anyway and they will still be doing the commentary for the audio feeds, so maybe the marginal cost is minimal?
  4. Rovers will still offer audio in the UK but won’t be able to do TV. They can still offer TV outside the UK but that only gives a small income.
  5. If we win we’re mathematically safe, as Huddersfield and Birmingham have still to play each other.
  6. I have a friend who is a Wednesday fan who for many years lived in Rawtenstall. Matt Smith has presumably never lived nearer Ewood than Northampton.
  7. I wouldn’t be surprised to see McFadzean take up some sort of behind the scenes role with Eustace. I noticed at the Southampton game that at half time he spoke to every one of the 11 on field players as they came off. I would assume that he is adopting some sort of role already, whether official or unofficial.
  8. Looking at how MannUnited defend I think there’s every chance Coventry will be planning another trip to Wembley when they play us, and not for the play-off final.
  9. The Sky commentators were very clear that they thought that they weren’t penalties. And in truth there was no outrage from either Leeds players or fans.
  10. Actually the very best teams to play right at the end of the season are those who can’t go up automatically but are guaranteed a play-off place. It’s possible the both Coventry and Leicester could be in that category. Not likely but possible.
  11. Whilst we might not have picked up many points under Eustace, not only have we slowed down the number of goals conceded we have stopped conceding a lot of late ones since he arrived. Just 1 so far after 75 minutes.
  12. Indeed he does but my point was that there is no control about who is voting. Presumably I could go and give Adam a 9 every game without even seeing the game. Likewise I could give every Burnley player a 1 every game.
  13. Whilst it’s nice to see Adam doing so well we need to bear in mind that it’s not the BBC making these judgements, it’s just fans on the internet posting whatever scores they like. I assume many are Palace fans watching the game and making informed scores I think anyone can give whatever score they like.
  14. The Rovers commentators made the same comment on RoversTV. Sunderland said they sold 42,000 tickets but there were apparently more like 30,000 there. That gap can't be made up by some ST holders not turning up on the day.
