  1. Right seen us linked with 2 people recently all United Academy players: Adam Berry Will Fish Obviously Duncan McGuire won't be signing.

  7. Not sure if this has been mentioned anywhere Danny Murphy: Former Liverpool and England midfielder became addicted to cocaine after retirement I do wonder if maybe his addiction started whilst he was still playing, given how bad he was when he was with Rovers

  9. I know there is at least one Trust thread already, but with the recent election complete and a board shake up underway, I think it`s fair to start fresh. Please try and stay on topic. From the Rovers Trust Website. The elected members of the new Rovers Trust Board (Steven Bradley, Michael Doherty, Ozz Jones and John Murray) met for the first time on Saturday 15 April. We would like to thank members for their votes and the faith placed in us to take things forward and build on the work of the previous Board. We agreed that John Murray would become the next Chair of the Trust, with Ozz Jones as Vice-Chair. Michael Doherty will lead on legal and policy issues and on liaison with external bodies. Steven Bradley will lead on communications and social media. We feel that this reflects the balance between change and continuity that the election results communicated. Strengthening the Board with people with the right expertise and enthusiasm is an immediate priority and steps are underway to co-opt further Board members. Whatever happens in these final games of the season, our club is in dire straits and the Trust has a lot of work to do. We need more members and more active involvement from existing members. We know there is an appetite for this from members and we are seeking ways to involve you more in both formal and informal ways. We have every confidence that you will respond actively and creatively! We are meeting again in less than two weeks and are working with the previous Board on an effective transition. If you have any immediate questions or offers of help then please contact us on enquiries@roverstrust.co.uk http://mailchi.mp/roverstrust/a-message-from-the-new-board
  10. Broughton certainly has his critics and takes a lot of flack on here, but I thought it was a superb interview. Spoken openly and honestly about the full range of topics that supporters would want to be addressed. From the budget, to Phillips, to Wharton, it is exactly what we've been calling for in terms of clarity and reassurance. If another DoF came out and spoke like that we'd have dozens on here asking why our own staff couldn't do the same. Assuming that there is nothing misleading in what he said - which I would be surprised if there were - then it gives me a much stronger sense that we have some safe hands in key positions at the club (even if they might not have as much power or independence as we might want).
  11. Welcome aboard Jon https://www.rovers.co.uk/news/2022/june/14/velkommen-jon-/ He’s also brought in an assistant manager and performance director
  12. The BRFCS Player of the Month for August 2023 is the skipper Lewis Travis who with a series of wholehearted displays to start the season narrowly held off the challenge of Dominic Hyam & Ryan Hedges. https://x.com/brfcsdotcom/status/1697223304698790080?s=61&t=YzghmFC1hBTxrcVJBu1kGQ MOTM template .mp4
  13. 4,000 Holes is returning in 2023/24 with four new issues planned. Subscriptions are now available. For just £10 (which includes UK postage), you will receive the next four issues (109 to 112). Issue 109 will be a Special Edition as part of the 'fan takeover day' for the Rovers v Girona pre-season friendly on Saturday 29th July. Previous subscribers are already due to receive Issue 109 - therefore there is the option to get a reduction on the subscription for anyone renewing for this season. Meanwhile Issue 111 is due to be a 'Nineties Special', to follow on from the hugely popular 2000-10 Special and 2010-20 Special from the last couple of years. 16. Following on from my suggestion on the Venky's out thread, I have now had a response from the makers of the masks, which I have pasted at the end of this message. I should have a price tomorrow and confirmation if it can be done. I am going to need some pledges and will be happy to fund up to 500 myself, so long, as I can get pledges say for each person on here to buy 5 off me. Wear one yourself and sell 4 to a friend or family member. All to be worn for the Ipswich game, as this game is on TV and I will ensure Sky are aware of it and what the reasons are. If there is enough interest, I will arrange for the delivery and distribution close to the ground and will give instructions on how to collect. Thanks for getting in touch, would the masks be with elastic or sticks? and A4 or A3? To produce high quality face masks we need a forward facing photo that’s a close up of the person’s whole head, with a minimum file-size of 2mb. If you zoom in to the image so that the face is roughly A4 size on a computer screen, you’ll get a very good idea of the final print quality. Please avoid sending screenshots from a mobile phone or tablet, as this will limit the size of the image we receive regardless of the size/quality of the original. Please also avoid Facebook images, as Facebook compresses photos on upload to make them much smaller than the original photo, which means they’re not suitable for facemasks. Kind Regards,
  17. We have triggered a £500,000 release clause in the contract of Crewe Alexandra defender Connor O'Riordan. Rovers want to make the defender their first signing of the January transfer window and are favourites to do so. Six other clubs, including four from the Championship, are also tracking the 20-year-old. The Lancashire Telegraph understands Rovers have followed the progress of O'Riordan for a while and made bids to sign him in the summer transfer window. However, they have now placed a bid of half a million to secure his services, with personal terms to be agreed. They're described as favourites for his signature with the young defender impressed by the pathway available at Ewood Park. Anyone seen him play? One for the current campaign or more preparation for waggot and co. Preparing for a potential drop to L1?
