  1. Are there any other away travel coaches going from near Ewood a little later than the official coaches, say at 6pm
  2. Hi, Hope you don't mind me posting this. I'm trying to obtain footage of Rovers v Grimsby on 16th October 1999. The game was in Division One and ended in a 1-1 draw. Our club produced highlights compilations for years, but unfortunately not in 1999/2000. Hoping someone on here can help or will know someone who ay have the footage. Many Thanks Bruce
  3. Hi, hope you don't mind me posting on here. I'm compiling a video archive of Grimsby Town. Our club produced a highlights compilation from 1989/90 to 2007/08 with the exception of one season. 1999-2000. As a result I'm trying to find as many of those games as I can. Do any of you have, or know someone who would, footage of Rovers v Grimsby in Division One on 16th October 1999 at Ewood? The game finished 1-1. Hope someone can help. Bruce
  4. Seems that April Fools' Day has been a good day on the whole for Rovers... some great memories here: https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/on-this-day:-1st-april/211 https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/demolition-derby!/212
  5. A superb profile of the record-breaking Tommy Briggs is available for you to enjoy during the international break: https://www.brfcs.com/magazine/articles/tommy-briggs---a-man-for-all-seasons/206 How we could have done with a goalscorer like him in recent months...
  6. Up for sale are 4 Rovers flags, size 6ft x 4ft,. Designed by myself. Buy all 4 flags for £150 inc post. Or buy flags individually for £40 inc post. Thanks for looking.
  7. https://talkfootball365.com/uploads/clubs/Blackburn Rovers.png Blackburn Rovers Posted just now Hi guys, I am currently a student studying Sociology at the University of Nottingham and am trying to collect several research participants, between the ages of 16-25 living in the North-West of England, to take part in a few online 1 on 1 interviews conducted by myself regarding the topic of racism within football. I would be extremely grateful if I could have roughly 30 minutes of your time whenever suits you best in order to ask you a few questions for my research. Thank you for taking the time to read this post, if you meet the aforementioned characteristics then please do get in touch, it will be much appreciated! Come on you Rovers! Chris.
  8. Remember he came on loan in April 1995? A so called coup at the time. He played one game against West ham and was poor and never got another minute.
  9. So here we are, nearly 10 am and so far Rothwell is having a lovely day out by the seaside but looks likely to be coming home tomorrow What do people expect the day to bring?
  10. I was idly thinking to myself the other day, what players have turned out for rovers who were hometown lads. I'm more interested in players from yesteryear, rather than the modern era. All I could think of was Bob crompton Bryan Douglas Harry healless Fred pickering Any more?
  11. Why was this taken away as pre match music? It had become tradition.
  12. Hello Rovers, I hope this is ok for a new thread, I had a good search round and couldn't find one on him. Appears he's signing on loan for Stoke today, we're very thin on the ground for centre-halves, Harry Souttar being long-term injured and us having slightly mysteriously cut Ostigard's loan from Brighton short. And we were supposedly in for John Souttar along with yourselves, although that seems to have gone a bit cold. Just thought I'd ask for a bit of insight on Taylor.. he seemed to be well-liked here, any particular strengths to look forward to or weaknesses to be aware of? Did he play in a 3 or a 4 with you? Cheers 😀

  14. BRFCS Rules BRFCS has been used as a forum for over 20 years. Throughout this time we have had numerous different sets of rules and moderation teams, below are our latest rules. Please note that these rules are changed/updated regularly by the team. 1) Links to Streams We’d love to be able to offer Rovers games live on BRFCS.com. Unfortunately we can’t - in fact if we are seen to be allowing streams to be shared we can be sued. With that in mind, please do not ask for, or share any streams to Rovers games on the Forum. 2) Personal Attacks We are - in the vast majority - all Rovers fans on this website. We do not accept personal attacks on other members. We do however actively encourage discussion, agreement and disagreement, but we expect all members to both agree and disagree respectfully. Personal Attacks will always face a warning. 3) Swearing BRFCS allows its members to swear, but context is important. We do not allow swearing at other members or their views. This sometimes causes confusion - so we have put some examples below: Rovers where shite today, we didn’t deserve any points - acceptable. The Manager played the wrong formation today, he should take the fucking blame - acceptable I thought the opposition player celebrating in front of the Blackburn End was wrong. He’s a prick - acceptable. @K-Hod is a fucking clown. He’s no idea what he’s talking about - unacceptable. You’re always chatting shit on here @K-Hod - unacceptable. 4) Trolling and Baiting One of our biggest problems currently is trolling and baiting. We’ve defined these below: Trolling To antagonise others online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant or offensive comments or other disruptive comments. To harass, criticise or antagonise one person especially by disparaging or mocking their statements. Baiting Intentionally making other posters angry / reactive by saying or doing things especially to annoy them. 5) Racism, Sexism, Other This should go without saying but unfortunately there has been occasions of this. There are no warnings or second chances - whether its stereotyping, innuendo or a flat out “ism”, it will face an immediate, permanent ban 6) Use of BRFCS content elsewhere The emergence of Social Media has seen BRFCS posters content being used on other platforms, often alongside negativity. If you choose to share and comment on BRFCS posts on alternative platforms, especially those where posters do not have the right of reply, you will be permanently banned from BRFCS. 7) Hiding Posts The moderation team hide posts by members for numerous reasons, including but not limited to your post quotes another post which has been hidden. Please do not send threads off topic asking why your posts have been hidden, or even worse, start a new thread asking about hidden posts. If you have any questions on this please private message the moderation team or use the Ask Admin section. We cannot edit your posts - that means if you post a superb message, but the final sentences includes something that breaks the rules, we have no choice but to hide the entire post. Warning System In an ideal world, we wouldn’t need moderators or warnings. Unfortunately, we do. We have 6 different warnings which are used at moderators discretion. Whilst each warning has a bigger ban duration, that doesn’t mean that they’re sequential, sometimes bans are issued without any previous warning. The below details each warning moderators have available to them: 1) ‘The Yellow Card’ - a 12 hour ban. 2) ‘2 match ban’ - a 48 hour ban. 3) 5 day ban 4) 1 month ban 5) 3 month ban 6) Permanent ban. Please note you must acknowledge a ban before the countdown starts on its duration. For example, if you have a 12 hour ban but never acknowledge the warning, you will be banned until you acknowledge the warning. 15. If he's as committed in the tackle as in the clips , many opposition supporters will be saying his name in response 😁 Welcome to Rovers Deyovaisio Zeefuik ...
  16. I've been watching Rovers with my dad since the late 80's, our first season tickets were in the Riverside towards the Darwen End - Row 4, just far enough forward to ensure that you got drenched when it was raining and also so that you missed chunks of the last 5/10 minutes of every game as people filed past in front of us to get out early. It used to drive my dad mad - he would always say that he didn't understand why, especially in a close game, people would choose to leave early from something they had paid for. In contrast then, we would always stay not just until the final whistle but beyond to clap the lads off the pitch - win, lose or draw. In fact, in over 30 years of watching Rovers, I can only remember leaving early twice, once when we lost 3-0 to Sunderland on Boxing Day - Kevin Phillips scored the third with a couple of minutes left and my dad stood up and said "Let's go", I nearly fainted with shock - and the second was this season against Fulham - we stuck it out until 0-5, but more than that was too much even for my dad. So, leaving last night's match just after the 60th minute, on a stretcher, will have irritated him no end - in fact, when I spoke with him in the ambulance just before he was taken to hospital, he was complaining about the fact he'd missed the goal!! Me - I'm just thankful that (hopefully) it won't be the last game I get to watch at Ewood with him. Thankful that it happened where, and when, it did - had it happened on the way to or from the ground, or at half-time, or even just after a goal had been scored, the response would probably not have been so quick. Thankful for everyone who helped, from those who echoed my desperate cries for help, those who responded so quickly and so brilliantly, those who tried to calm me down and reassure me, and those who have posted on here or on social media wishing us well. He's doing ok - still in hospital being monitored, but conscious, breathing and desperate to get home. And I can't wait til we're back at Ewood, watching the Rovers, and pissing off everyone around us who wants to make a quick exit by standing and clapping the lads off the park.
  17. I've just noticed that Football Aid (the charity that organised games at Ewood Park) has just ceased trading. https://www.footballaid.com/ Always been a dream of mine to play at Ewood and I'd saved up the money to play when I turned 30, but I snapped my ACL returning to Saturday league (after 52 minutes) and couldn't sign up. Been hoping they'd get the postponed game rearranged at some point so I could get involved. Absolutely gutted. Did anyone have the chance to play in one of these games or were due to play in the covid-postponed game? Would be nice to hear of anyone's experiences of it.
  18. Hi all, Sorry if there's a thread related to this, but I thought that now Christmas is done & we've probably all given received presents, it would be good to put stuff up here. Not only would it be interesting generally, but it will help all fans know what weird & wonderful things are out there & might increase sales of said item. Hope this is all within the scope of forum rules! I'll start with a book I received called "No Nay Never - Blackburn Rovers v Burnley" by Michael Hodkinson, published in 2021 by Legends Publishing. I've barely scratched the surface of this 480 glossy-paged behemoth but it goes from the 1880s to the most recent meeting and seems to cover everything that could possibly be covered, and there are swathes of quotes & interviews from players, staff, fans & contemporaneous newspaper articles. The detail is sensational, really well presented & full of really attractive pics and photos. I'm really looking forward to settling down with this once the Christmas & New Year madness has died down. I'm sure it's a must read* for all those who bleed blue and white!! Hats of Mr Hodkinson sir, for a wonderfully researched & produced read about football's longest existing professional Derby! (* except the chapter entitled "Burnley Back On Top: 2009-2021"; I might give that one a miss.)

  20. Hi, would the pre-match remembrance tributes shown on big screen be able to be filmed by anyone either a fan or officially? I’m based in London but have arranged a tribute to my grandad Jack Clough who died recently. I’d love to show it to my grandma and family - thanks in advance
  21. I've seen that both QPR and Crystal Palace have now partnered with a Cryptocurrency business and are now selling these digital tokens to fans in exchange for a "licenced digital image" https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/qpr-launch-digital-collectibles-141221/ Crystal palace seem to be offering even less just giving fans votes in a poll or to play games against other fans, seems a bit weird. https://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/partner-news/crystal-palace-to-launch-cpfc-fan-token-on-socios-com/2021-12-09/ I follow a bit of digital art and I've come across NFT'S before. I've never been able to wrap my head around how people part with so much money to "own" a digital image I can just right click and save as 🤷‍♂️ Needless to say, the QPR and Palace announcements have gone down like a lead balloon on Twitter and it all seems very dodgey. There is also a bloke popping up on various clubs Twitter accounts promoting this Cryptocurrencies, acting like he's a lifelong fan of each, saying how great these partnerships are. Anyone else come across these before and have more knowledge than I have? Feels like the sort of shady, pyramid scheme Waggott would be all over!
  22. Looks like they're struggling to sell tickets for Wolves away tomorrow night. https://www.expressandstar.com/sport/football/wolverhampton-wanderers-fc/2021/11/29/wolves-to-have-largest-home-support-of-the-season-against-burnley/
  23. Anyone know how many tickets PNE have sold. Hope BR out more staff on the concourse, especially JW upper tier
  24. It’s just been brought to my attention that one time Rovers striker Louis Bimpson died last week. He was one of the members of the 1960 Cup Final team. He was 92, possibly the oldest surviving Rovers player. Thanks for the memories Louis.
