  3. Sitting down with my Sunday morning brew I broke one of my New Years resolutions which was to never read any of Mowbrays articles. Lancashire live quote “ Mowbray expects a team like boro to be in the premiership “. God give me strength in their entire history they have won one trophy. He endlessly tells us how privileged we are to be competing against the big teams in this league. Has he taken any time to look at the history of the club he manages if boro deserves to be in the premier then I’m one hundred percent sure we do. He needs to recognise the privilege he has been given to manage

  4. Years ago Charlton fans got "bored" with Alan Curbishley keeping them mid-table in the Prem and look where they are now. Same with our fans who were bored with Sam keeping us in the top league. I've never in 50 years plus gone to watch Rovers wanting to be "entertained". I want to see us win - full stop. I find this argument quite ridiculous. I'd have the likes of Dyche or Sam or Warnock at Ewood tomorrow.

  5. 2 superb passes from, without doubt, our best player. All those doubting Dack need to give their heads a wobble.

  6. In a horrible position where I can’t take pleasure in defeats because we’ve lost and I can’t take pleasure in victories because Mowbray lumbers on. Suppose that’s life under Venkys rovers.

  7. This last two months has been the worst football we’ve played in years. Absolutely 0 direction and 0 clue. Pathetic, boring, directionless none of our lot have a clue

  8. Mowbray attempting to further ingratiate himself with the owners by publicly thanking them for their help and support in agreeing to sanction a move for Branthwaite, despite all the budget being spent for the season. How ridiculous. Any guesses for what we are paying a week to help develop Everton's player? If the Tom Trybull figures from Rich Sharpe are correct then I expect a few grand a week at the most. We've probably saved more by sending Harry Chapman to Shrewsbury than it has cost us to bring Branthwaite in. It's a six month loan. No transfer fee, no contract, no su

  9. A bit rich! IMO, in the main, Mowbray has churned out absolutely dire football - his footballing philosophy is a myth. I would watch a Dyche team every day of the week over a Mowbray team because I knew the team would know what they were doing and it would be successful! IMO, Mowbray's football, in the main, is both ugly and unsuccessful. He failed to keep us up, as he was appointed to, and since returning to the Championship we've stood still as evidenced by our league position, points tally and distance from play offs at this stage of the season in each of the three seasons w

  12. Honestly, the bullshit these Sky pundits spout. You can tell they haven’t watched a minute of our games when they say stuff like “Blackburn go direct because of the efficiency of it”. WTF?

  13. We’ve all been 18. I wouldn’t have thought the sight of a 72 year old foaming at the mouth will bother him in the slightest. Probably finds it funny.

  14. Warnock having a pop at an 18 year old kid. As much as it was a pen and probably a red, it wasn’t intentional, so wind it in Neil.

  15. Oh well. We had a perfectly good goal disallowed last game. This game we got away with a penalty. It’s a game of swings and roundabouts. Fantastic away win and on to the next. No point going over old ground.

  16. I honestly don’t see the point in going over the penalty incident. There are terrible decisions in near enough every game in the championship. We scored a perfectly good goal in our last match which was 3yrds onside and ruled offside! It was 0-0 at the time and so hearing in mind our record that changed the course of that game too...and? The penalty wasn’t given, tough shit. It’s done now and Boro didn’t do enough to beat us. NEXT

  17. but 11 against 11, they weren’t good enough. Boro should have got on with it and won the game via their own ability. Virtually every game teams have penalty appeals brushed aside, ignore it and get on and win the game without the refs help. I have little sympathy Mercer. Win the game yourself, don’t rely on the ref to win it for you.

  18. One of the more obvious penalty claims I've ever seen. This place would be in uproar if it had gone against us. A good lucky win.

  19. Knocked my bottle of red over when I heard that and I'm not joking! Had to pour a bottle of white over carpet to prevent staining - fortunately has worked! Totally unconvincing. Mowbray got lucky we didn't concede penalty and go down to 10 men - don't want Mowbray to moan about decisions ever again. Branthwaite raw - is he really better than Carter or Magloire? Douglas - IMO, robbing a living. Davenport - don't think he has it or ever will. Travis - don't think lad's fit. Not the same player. Buckley - FFS, a £10million PL player!?!? Think this lad wil

  20. Terrible first 70 minutes, then came to life after we scored. Boro looked shellshocked and were unable to recover. Obviously massively lucky not to concede a pen at best, play most of the match with ten men at worst. With that said I didn't see anything from Boro to suggest they'll finish any higher than us. We gave them the majority of the game to score and they didn't take it. Need to seriously consider sending Buckley somewhere to develop. Not ready yet. Douglas continues to look like an incredibly poor signing. Arma missed some key chances and spent most of the match isolated.

  21. Yeah, Warnock the absolute prick having a go at an 18yr old at the end of the match. Poor and disjointed. The subs helped, we got the three points and I thought Lenihan had his best game in a year!

  22. Dack has done more in a minute than Buckley did the entire time he was on the pitch.

  23. I can't understand how he turned to his subs, saw Dack, Trybull, Holtby, Brereton and went with Buckley....😳

  24. For the rest of the season it’s merely an exercise in who Mowbray can blame. Injuries, the players, the pitch, the officials, the opposition's budget, the opposition’s tactics, no fans, fan expectations, covid. Must be more.

  26. Mate you even admit he is telling porkys about the Premier League stuff. And that's a huge problem as it makes the fans out to be entitled, ubeducated and unreasonable, which isn't true. It tells a narrative of unreasonable expectations so fans will never be happy - it completely excuses his failures by making it seem like fans have too high expectations. So yeah, I think it's a poor do because it's false, besmirches the fans and aims to manipulate the outside view of the situation. Put it this way you wouldn't be so chill if Kean or Coyle said it... As for a section of fans always not b

  27. I am actually on that photo along with my girlfriend of the time. I've got a much better, bigger, glossy version of the photo so I spotted the the two of us. If you look to where that pole is in the centre of the picture, right at the top, next to the pole there's a bloke in light coloured trousers. Look just to the left in the photo and there's a couple stood close together in dark clothes roughly in line with the guys feet. That's me and Janet. The game is against Aston Villa 2nd of January 1965. We won in a canter 5-1 in front of a crowd of 18,292 on what as the game went on became a

  28. Now then...... I don't know what year it was (either 1963 or 64) we went to King George's Hall to watch Roy Orbison. The first half of the show we were entertained by several groups who were in the charts. Freddie and the Dreamers, Brian Poole and the Tremeloes, The Searchers and another two or three who I cannot remember. No sign of The Beatles or The Rolling Stones. We were rocking with these, being very noisy and thoroughly enjoying it. After the interval Roy Orbison was announced. The curtains drew back and there he was in the middle of the stage in front of a microphone wearing

  29. I had several rows with him over the years and I have to say I found him a nasty individual who invariably blamed me when his team had lost. In the same season he called me the best first year referee he had ever seen to the worst official on the list later in the season. Today's rant was typical of him and it's simply a deflection tactic designed to ease any criticism for losing. This is a man who called Diouf a sewer rat then signed him.

  31. Thanks. I always enjoy a trip to Ewood Park, we normally take a really good following. Hopefully I can go back soon. I think under Warnock, if things go right for us with injuries etc we should do. I said Norwich would win the league before it started and tbh anyone from about 16 teams in this league, including us and yourselves could have finished 2nd before the season started, I don't see a big gap in quality between the others. I don't think many teams will take 4 points from us this season so enjoy.

  33. Warnock can fuck off. Never a red. It’s a PK and a yellow. The lad was playing the ball and the attacker lowered his head. Reckless sure, but never violent conduct, and didn’t prevent an obvious goal scoring opportunity.

  34. Well never expected the three points coming back with us' Kaminski is fabulous. Douglas had a better game and Nyambe a poorer one. Travis looked lost until sparking into life late on. I'd keep Davenport in the team. Elliott is great but needs much better coaching than he is getting. Arma had his shot settings awry today. All credit to Branthwaite in the way he handled himself after that incident. Boro looked like they were too physical for him but he came through well. Really good game from Lenihan. Thought the triple sub by Mowbray was mental but we we

  38. Kaminski - immerse Lenihan - one of his best game at the back so far this season Gallagher - best sub today, came on and won quite a few headers, looked fresh and strong. Dack - his awareness and technical skills never in doubt, just need to keep working on his fitness Davenport - kept things simple throughout, hope his injury isnt serious. The rest woke up after we scored. Much much better performance after that. Still cant understand why we took so long to get up to speed with the game. Kaminski kept us in the game with a couple of important saves.

  45. There’s even folk mumbling about Dyche every time that lot lose a game... you know he who just ended a three year unbeaten Anfield home record and has completely transformed a club in the doldrums for decades (one year aside). TM has it bloody easy here, be it from those ‘above’ or supporters.

  46. Haha - breathe lads BREATHE!! Mowbray is going to defend his position and his job because HE believes he can turn this around. That doesn’t make him immoral or dare I say it, ‘Kean-esque’. It makes him human. Every single one of us would do the same in his position. His comment about a section of our fans who will never be happy is TRUE. Some of that section post regularly in here for Christ sake!! Maybe it’s not because of Shearer and Sutton or winning the PL that they feel this way but I wouldn’t argue with their existence! The key factor in my opinion here is that Mowbray is

  47. He isnt going to regain full match fitness until he starts a couple of games in the senior team. You have spent the majority of his absence disregarding his return, underplaying his importance to us, repeatedly suggesting that he should be sold and implying that he will never return the same player. We cant be sure on the latter (although there is no reason yet to suggest that he wont) but he has signed a new long term deal and lets get bloody excited at his return, he has been our best player (all as a number 10) from signing here until his injury, our season has shown no improvement, our for
