  1. Let me put this into perspective for you Gav. My wife is Palestinian, she still has family living in Gaza, so far this year her Aunty's house they have lived in for nearly 40 years was demolished for no reason other than the Zionists wanted the land. Her 15 year old son was beaten up, arrested and detained in a cage because he tried to stop the destruction of his home. My wife's family spent yesterday digging out neighbours bodies that had been killed when a zionist rocket hit their houses. They posted a message on Facebook last night saying their goodbyes to everyone as they didn't expect to

  3. Oh and I think it was this thread where somebody said Arma's 28 goals in the league was hardly exceptional or something like that. It happens to be the joint 4th most goals anybody has scored in a Championship season ever.

  4. I will criticise the shower running Rovers for a multitude of sins BUT announcing a new 5 year kit deal in mid May just after the 'old' season has ended will not be one of them.

  5. Really disappointed we are letting Rothwell go. He's not been managed well by Mowbray at all imo. Mowbray seemed to take the approach to bully him a bit which seemed unfair. He had his faults but it wasn't his attitude. Needed more if an arm round him. Feels a lot like Cairney. Genuinely talented but strangely not valued. Likely to go on to a higher level like Cairney. Seems totally self inflicted. Other players far less promising treated better.

  6. Bowyer, Lambert, Coyle, Mowbray.... all much of a muchness, all with alleged same representation. Not much point bickering about that lot really every one of them would need good backing just to keep Venky Rovers in midtable. All capable of relegating an average side ( 2 of them did between them ). Most of them probably capable of getting a lge 1 promotion with good backing. Any of them capable of challenging promotion with a good squad and backing ? Well 2 haven't managed it here despite having time. It's just a scrapheap agents client list merry go round. Non of them build or

  7. Whoever swoops in and gets Rothwell from us will be getting a steal. Will go on to be a top player wherever he goes. Tony Mowbray has no idea what to do with him. Top quality player, best dribbler I have see in years, and he is also a very good passer. Nowhere near appreciated enough at Rovers. Will be very upset.

  8. Hancock being untruthful again as he gives false information to justify not putting India on the Red List earlier. He said the positivity of infections of travellers from Pakistan and Bangladesh was three times higher than India but the graph in this article disproves that. He will not let the facts get in the way to exonerate himself and his cohorts. Governance without responsibility which goes unchallenged. https://news.sky.com/story/covid-19-when-the-governments-opaque-green-amber-and-red-list-decisions-dont-match-the-data-12309430

  9. It should be Chapman crawling over broken glass on the offer of a Championship contract, he’ll be 24 not long after next season kicks off and he’s never even started a game at this level.

  11. Never thought I'd be grateful to be backed up by something off Nixon's feed but I'll take it. The fact he is casting doubt on it makes me feel a little more confident Lol. The bit about "end of the month" would tie in exactly with my original understanding about the timescale and a relatively dignified exit etc. Of course it could just be someone whose read this thread and is recycling the rumours on here! Anyone know who @ 1875 is?

  12. Not sure about that, but I reckon if Lambert had got over 4 years at the job, with £15m in transfer fee's and a decent wage budget, plus never having to sell any of his best players, he would have achieved at least the same as Mowbray has.

  13. Not too dissimilar a situation to last season. A proper CEO would keep fans engaged. Last season it looked probable we weren't going to be able to attend and the Club needed a membership scheme at a nominal fee with some sort of gift, benefit or reward attached to keep people engaged signed up and on board. We could always have upgraded the membership to a ticket had the time arose. Instead we inexplicably waited until it looked like we DEFINITELY wouldn't be able to attend and then put prices up by up to 25% thereby reducing the season ticket base from just short of 10 k to a paltry 2.5k.

  15. Former Rovers boss Roy Hodgson to retire at the end of the season. A manager who left Internazionale to join Blackburn Rovers! A shame his legacy can be split into two distinct parts. The initial August 1997 - February 1998 run was nothing short of phenomenal. In the Premier League P24 W12 D9 L3 Pts 45 Then the downfall, only 4 more wins in the next 14 and scraped into Europe. The 1998/99 season start was a disaster P14 W2 D3 L9 Pts 9 by the time he was sacked and ultimately lead to relegation by the end of that season. But for a while we were fantastic,

  16. I don't think it is fair or accurate for us to criticise Israel without, also, criticising the US for its some £33 billion annual military aid to Israel and the UK's £400 million in arms and military equipment sales since 2015 and ongoing diplomatic support, knowing full well the situation. Israel would not be able to do what it's doing without it's faux neutral backers. Likewise, the US and Britain's support for Saudi Arabia's blockading and bombing of Yemen.

  18. I'd be protesting if my country was slaughtering the indigenous population that it had colonized. Would you not? The history of modern Israel is irrevocably tied with fleeing fascism to settle safely in their new home within the country of Palestine. That they have forgotten their history and are doing what was done to their very recent ancestors is baffling to me.

  19. If you came home tonight and all your furniture was out in the street and another family was moving into your house Gav, what would you do ? This action goes way beyond self defence, it’s genocide. The Israeli state is worse than the old South Africa was, at least they didn’t use weapons of mass slaughter on the African population.

  22. I've never said "end of the month" specifically, just that the info was that it was intended to be a relatively dignified departure at the end of the season. I.e. my reading of that would be they probably wouldn't be potting him an hour after the season finished and that it would probably be expressed to be "by mutual consent" even if it wasn't. As regards Nixon's twitter feed, it wasn't Nixon who suggested it, someone has tweeted him speculating Mowbray'll be gone by the end of the month and Nixon has pooh poohed it saying only if Mowbray wants to leave as well. Could just be s

  23. Rothwell managed 3 goals and 4 assists this season, not setting the world alight kinda stats but I think with the skills he has he's worth keeping hold of and trying to get more out of him (probably would take another manager do so).

  24. Wouldn't expect much activity from our end. Our "recruitment department" will be dusting off the usual excuses as we speak and adding a couple of new ones: "We did our best and have had offers in for players all summer but": - Agents demands excessive - Players demands not realistic in the post pandemic era - We thought we had a deal with a certain player but were beaten to it at the last minute by Club X coming in and offering him what he wanted" - "After we sold Adam, Clubs knew we had money and put a zero on the end of their price tag / Adam was sold too late

  29. I do think that Rothwell more than anyone gets his own performances and reputation almost shielded by the bigger issue that is the overall failings of the manager. He obviously could maybe argue that he may have been coached better (although its basically impossible to judge) and indeed he may move on and push on in his career, but he is not this unappreciated talent that is being prevented from expressing himself by Mowbray. His CV prior to joining was underwhelming, so its not as if hes proven that he can perform regularly beforehand. His dribbling ability is very good but his foot

  33. Some very anti-semitic posts on here. You're not allowed to criticise Israel Case in point was the recent Israeli destruction of the media tower in Gaza, which housed the offices of Al Jazeera, Associated Press, and the BBC. If an attack on the media like that had been carried out by a terrorist organisation, there would have been a huge international outcry, but because it was done by Israel, there was hardly any condemnation, other than on social media. Politicians know that if they dare to criticise Israeli barbarity, they'll be subjected to a smear campaigns and accused of b

I agree with Ewood Ace on this,Israel has established apartheid by military force. Only a fair settlement with the Palestinians will end this cycle of violence and Israel is not interested.

  36. Rothwell is a bit like King in that he can carry the ball from one end to the other almost easily at times. That's when he often comes unstuck but it's something to work on and he has valuable skills. His manager though is just another limited ambition guy who's terrified of more than one flair player on the park at a time. Just another boss who doesn't know or doesn't want to harness a real talent. Rather have the ball going slowly and safely sideways and backwards so he doesn't have to stand up and bark orders. I'm surprised they haven't installed a tea and biscuits bar at the back

Some Gaza families are reporting to be going to bed together so that if their home is struck, they die together. 10,000 people said to be displaced, some living in UN schools. Israel bombed and destroyed a media tower housing the Associated Press (AP) and Al Jazeera media, amongst others. They gave reporters one hour warning to evacuate. They say that Hamas was using the building and that evidence was shared with the US, but Secretary of State, Anthony

The last time I thought highly of Chapman is three years ago. Since then, the amount of talk and drama surrounding him given his lack of playing time is starting to annoy me. Get rid.

  43. That first season was excellent up until Feb 1998. Going to Ewood that season was a delight. Maybe more so for me as a kid seeing the Blackburn End in full voice and thinking 'wow'. Ripley and Wilcox out wide, Sutton and Gallagher doing the business upfront, loads of mini buses, taxis etc full of Rovers fans going down Bolton Road at 2.30pm on a Saturday. Frantically refreshing the teletext every 30 seconds for our away games. Good times. It's a shame Roy's second season went downhill so fast. He wasted too much money on the likes of Dailly and Davies, we didn't replace Hendry and then th

It doesn't matter that these things leak for most clubs, Rovers are incompetent damn it. Note some 2022 kits are already leaked for some clubs - Rovers are poor for not showing/announcing theirs. But if they leaked ...poor Rovers, getting shown up by other parties.
