Sammie Szmodics saved the Rovers season against Leicester City on the final day of 2023/24 with yet another brace, taking his tally to a staggering 33 goals in all competitions.

He's just the seventh player in the history of Blackburn Rovers to score at least 30 goals in a season, despite operating primarily in an attacking midfield role rather than as an outright striker. And none of his goals were penalties!

Szmodics notched 27 league goals and six in the FA Cup. Only Ted Harper, Alan Shearer and Andy McEvoy have scored more in one campaign.
