Harry Leonard is hoping to build on his debut that came in Rovers most recent trip to Huddersfield, last season. He replaced Lewis Travis in the 65th minute as Tomasson’s side came from two goals behind to salvage a point, courtesy of Ryan Hedges 91st minute equaliser.

Joe Rankin-Costello’s goal early in the second half, followed by the introduction of Leonard and Hedges from the bench gave Rovers the firepower they needed to level things up. Leonard has since made 22 Championship appearances scoring three and assisting two goals.

“I'm really pleased with how I've developed, I’ve come on a lot since that day (debut at Huddersfield), but I want to keep developing,” he said.

“I've still got a lot to learn and I think there's still a lot to come from me.” Leonard added.

Following the late loss at home to Watford, Rovers have lost four out of their last five league fixtures, and will be hoping for a change of fortunes over the remainder of the festive period.

Leonard said: “It's just about getting three points on Boxing Day, if we do our things that we do, like we showed today (vs Watford) and we put the ball in the back of the net, we shouldn’t have any problems.”

The games come thick and fast at this time of the year, with three games in the next week. Leonard said: “You can't be too deflated, too disappointed, we've got a game in a few days, you've got to get back on the training ground, look at what we did well and look at Huddersfield and see where we can get at.”

Also adding: “You've got to recover well, we're going to need all the lads it's vital we do all we can.”

With exactly half the season played Rovers sit 14th in the table, despite being only 5 points off the play off places. Leonard said: “14th to 6th. It's really tight, we've just got to take it game by game, if we get a few wins on the bounce there's no reason we can't get up there.”

Injuries and suspension have hindered Rovers so far this season, as they will be hoping to have several influential figures present for the second half of the campaign.

Leonard said: “We've got some big characters out, about 6 or 7, once they get back in there's no reason why we can't make a go of it.”
