Rovers India Summit

Blackburn Rovers owners Venky's have had a summit on the inner workings at the club - but there will be NO major shake up. Chief executive Steve Waggott flew to India last week to discuss the problems at the Lancashire outfit. But instead of rumoured axeing Waggott will carry on.

However secretary Ian Silvester, who has years of experience, may leave after the recent cock-up with the signing of American striker Duncan McGuire.

Wednesday To Take On Rovers Over McGuire…Again

Sheffield Wednesday will make a new bid for an American striker Duncan McGuire - if they beat the drop. The Orlando hit man flew in for talks with the Owls on the last day of the window but headed for Blackburn instead as they dithered.

The Blackburn deal collapsed after a paperwork error and McBride will now return to the MLS but Wednesday still want him permanently as long as they stay in the Championship. Rovers are also looking to sign McGuire on a full time contract in the next few months.

Leonard In Demand

Carlisle United and Oxford United want to sign Blackburn’s young striker Harry Leonard next season. Leonard has started a few games in the Championship but may be loaned out in the next campaign. The young Rover was made available in the last window but then kept in at the end. However he could be on his way out to a new club in the summer.
