  1. Past hour
  2. Oh I don't know. They brought some pretty big followings in the 80s (which bucked the trend back then). I distinctly remember their fans being on all 4 sides of the ground one night (a la Man City and Bolton) when they were possibly going for promotion? Terry Curran scored their winner I think.
  3. The players had thrown JDT under the bus The reality is that none of them are fit to lace his boots. It speaks volumes of our "senior council" that they were prepared to be so blatantly lacklustre under him. Was it Callum Brittain who had a veiled dig after the Stoke game? JDT had only just left and he was ready to start the blame game There are a number of players I'd be looking to move on if I were Eustace. I'd start with Callum Brittain and Dom Hyam who, in my view, have been quite stand out in their poor attitudes We have lost too many big characters in recent years. What we have replaced them with are either young lads, or are just not comparable. Losing Kaminski, Ayala and Dack in one window is tragic
  4. End of the day we don’t know how the season would’ve panned out under JDT but the players had downed tools and the form had fallen off a cliff, so even as a big JDT fan I’ve no qualms in saying we’d still be in big trouble - yet we do go down, JE had to take a big part of the blame he’s had plenty of time and a points buffer throughout. (Obviously neither are the real culprits)..
  5. Eustace's has won 2 of his 13 league games in charge, and picked up 13 points from 39. JDT won 10 of his 28 league games in charge, and picked up 33 points from 84. Neither get credit for the 3 points against Stoke as neither picked the team or prepared for the game. JDT won games more frequently than Eustace has. Eustace has lost games less frequently than JDT did. If we go down then the season will have been 2/3 JDT and 1/3 Eustace. If we win 1 or more of our remaining 3 we are safe. If we don't then Eustace finishes the season with 2 wins in 16 league games, which I'm sure everyone can agree is an abysmal win return. JDT's points return had us on track for survival (whoop dee doo) hence we were never particularly close to the drop zone under him.

  7. ‘It’s time we started helping the owners’
  8. This is the problem we have and it will not change for the foreseeable future. The only way this season will be considered anything other than a decent one for Waggott is if we get relegated. Anything other than that, whether it be 7th or 21st, matters very little. Another season in the Championship, blame JDT, sold a few players for £25 million, academy model vindicated with Ash Phillips and Adam Wharton going for millions, no significant impact on results as we continue to be a mediocre Championship side. Wage bill cut again. Another 8000-9000 season tickets sold. Bonus time as the owners don't need £15 million of share issue next year, we can just use the Wharton cash instead. What's not to like?
  9. Not into them Japan ones tbh. Spezials or Munchens for me. I'm also partial to diador, maybe because I grew up in the 90s. They had some proper nice clobber in the mid 60s. The tunes weren't bad either.
  10. Hope i can still watch the full match replays for free
  11. For some reason I expected him to be a sicknote, but I've looked again and he seems to have played near enough every game. I must've seen him on his good days, and his goals probably helps mask some of the weaker aspects to his game. I like how physical he is - it's really stood out comparing him to some of our midfielders when we've played them.
  12. Bacuna is pony. Flatters to deceive, looks a worldie when on it but it's few and far between. Sh*te mentality. There's probably a manager that can squeeze the talent out of him somewhere though.
  13. Some interesting ones there. As a rule I don't like going for players just relegated and used to losing every week, but that doesn't always work. I don't think they'll go down, but there are massive red flags around Chair and especially Willock from QPR. Talentwise they should both be amongst the best players in the league (and might be beyond our reach), but they've looked like they've downed tools for really long spells over the last few years. Risky. I'd definitely be interested in James and Bacuna from Big Club. There'll be loads of interest in James though with him being so young. Don't think I'd take anyone from Wednesday. Rathbone stands out because of his name and that he always seems to do well against us, but he's older than I thought he was. Wouldn't be against signing him for the right price.
  14. Jack Walker numbers sound low, do we know how many ST were sold in that stand?
  15. Of those I think wages wise we are priced out of Stoke players, potentially Blues players too due to their new owners. Just chucking names into the ether Rathborne Odoffin Windass Rudoni Helik Kuroma Bacuna Laird Jordan James Chair Willock Field Paal

  17. I raised him as someone in the dack mode. Goal scoring attacking player but not necessarily phenomenal at anything physically not likely to lead a line. If we lose gally on 18k or whatever daft wage he is on, a big man knocking down to Dolan and a goal scorer may work
  18. The main concern for him is other clubs popping us. Id have him here too. I can see Eustace going for height in the team this year and adding physicality. At our price bracket you can't get physicality and technique so it's one of the other. JDT tenure saw us go down technique (Moran etc). I think Eustace may get one trick pony fast wingers, nasty central players etc.
  19. I think he'll be in the Championship next year. No idea of what he'll cost (£1million?) or if we'll be interested, but he's a good keeper.
  20. It is only a few times , I have seen him but the Rotherham keeper is better than anything we have ... Granted a relegation keeper is always busy .. Doesn't appear to make the howlers , ours do ..
  21. Sheffield is a two club city but it's massive compared to places like Blackburn and iv'e never known them come close to filling the DE before. Always good support here but usually in the 3 to 4k region like their inner city rivals so they've no need to be spouting bloody Wrexham brough 7k and Boro have had bigger followings here than Sheff Weds. In the late 90s they had a couple of really small followings because they weren't very good. Seems we are in an era of clueless social media kids who haven't much clue but we've seen and heard it all before, doesn't matter how many there is they often go home in silence.
  22. Yup, but this is Waggott we're dealing with! He doesn't care about bigger crowds or atmosphere... he's happy to price out most of the local population whilst rinsing the loyal supporters who'll pay pretty much anything. All that matters is that he meets the targets set by his overlords.
  23. So assuming the squad is everyone under contract with dolan and gally retained with none of the loans extended. I think the priority would be A starting centre forward A starting goalkeeper A starting winger A left back to challenge Pickering Once you've got those then you can look at other areas and moving people out. If you've got a starting striker then you can look to move gally on for example or cash in on dolan. Youd sell whichever keeper you got a bid for. You've also got the potential exit of szmodics which could cause a rethink. From that your then looking to Potentially replace szmodics A backup striker Another body in cm Either a rb or a cb

  25. Probably be about 5k match tickets sold by KO then, nothing wrong with that. It is what it is when you only have 9k ST holders, sell more STs = bigger crowds, simple as that.
