neekoy
Um yes Torres, I forget him, edit time I said it had to be fluid Figo has been outstanding in a relatively poor Portugal side I am little biased though because he is one of my favourite players, but he has regained some of the spark that took him to the top a couple of years back Edited June 23, 2006 by neekoy

Oklahoma
Hope Neill is included in the official WC team. It would make his price raise and Real Madrid would buy him.

Lathund
I was gonna say it earlier today, but it's even more true now than before: No team like this can be complete without Cannavaro. He's my player of the tournament, he's been completely flawless throughout the tournament, even when playing with three different partners. ihtd
Buffon Neill Matterazzi Gallas Lahm Maxi R Ballack Perrotta Robben klose Torres *I wanted to put Hargreaves in the side only because he has proven his haters wrong during this World Cup and has made us see why Bayern Munchen rate him so highly. If Sav were to leave and the lad wanted to play in the Premiership, i would love it if we signed him, a bit to good for us though maybe.
Ronin
Apparently Hargreaves only wants to play in the Premiership if it's one of the "big four" teams.
USRoverME
I would be tempted to try and find a spot for Miguel and Deco from Portugal. Miguel really causes havoc when he runs at people, so much pace! and Deco has really controled that midfield for Portugal, I think he's been their best player imho. Rover4ever
This world cup has seen defenders and midfielders shien much more than wingers/strikers For e.g. Zambrotta, Miguel and Sagnol are all having excellent tournaments as right backs. Similarly Cannavaro is followed by Ferdinand, Carvalho, Gallas, thuram , as star performers. I struggle to think of a striker who had a "good world cup" apart from Klose

LeChuck
Apparently Hargreaves only wants to play in the Premiership if it's one of the "big four" teams. I think Alex Ferguson will have to be crazy not to be looking at Hargreaves as a long term replacement for Roy Keane. They desperately miss everything Hargreaves has at present, and I'm sure he'd jump at the chance to go there. He is far too good for us though...plus his dad is a Bolton fan and apparently is always advising him to go there...I doubt very much he'd tell him to play for us. RoyRover
There have been a number of players that have stood out for me at this World Cup: Goalkeepers: Buffon Abbondanzairi Pletikosa Ricardo Defenders: Marquez Terry Ayala Lahm Zambrotta Cannavaro Meira Miguel Grosso Gusiev Thuram Salcido Sagnol Midfielders: Ballack Maxi Rodriguez Mascherano Zidane Maniche Ronaldo Tymoschuk Pirlo Gattuso Appiah Muntari Valencia Kaka Rosicky Strikers: Klose Podolski Henry Villa Torres Saviola However from that list my team would have to be: Buffon Zambrotta Cannavaro Marquez Grosso Maxi Rodriguez Mascherano Kaka Zidane Klose Torres Edited July 7, 2006 by RoyRover

neekoy
Where is Torres? How the hell did Terry get in ahead of Neill? Reminds me of Pele's Top 100 players of all time, farce
RoyRover
Terry deserves to be in the squad, but so do a lot of players that haven't been selected, like Lucas Neill and Rafael Marquez. I certainly wouldn't have Totti in the team, especially over Fernando Torres.
Rover4ever
Its a testimony to the strength of defenders at this WC that Neill, Gallas & Marquez have been left out and a testimony to the weak strikers that Luca Toni is there
