savage8
--------------Robbo Emerton Samba Nelsen Givet -----------Nzonzi Pedersen Hoilett-------Dunn--------Olsson --------------Kalinic Thats a 15th placed season finishing team if ever i saw one. Pretty sure this is almost the same body of players (save Salgado for Emo and Roberts for Niko) that finished last season so strongly... Anyone remember the draw against United and the wins against Arsenal and Villa?? Why so negative?
Majiball
Robinson Salgado - Samba - Jones - Givet Nzonzi - Pedersen Hoilett - Dunn - Olsson Kalinic That'll do for me. Jones over Nelsen as he's quicker, Hoilett and Olsson give us two players out wide with pace and hopefully can support Kalinic.
Balwer
I agree with Topman, but will include my bench for the hell of it: Robinson Salgado - Samba - Jones - Givet Nzonzi - Pedersen Hoilett - Dunn - Olsson Kalinic Bunn, Nelsen, Chimbonda, Emerton, Andrews, Diouf, Roberts I might change that against a big 3 team/away to replace Hoilett with Emerton and perhaps Kalinic with Roberts. northernrover
I think LeChuck almost has it with Robinson Salgado Samba Nelsen Givet Emerton N'Zonzi Pedersen Dunn Olsson Kalinic EDIT: But i think Dunn needs to be more advanced. deazel
Like many others, I don't think that Kalinic is at his best toiling alone upfront. He has a nice touch and good skill, but I think that these would be put to better use playing off a bigger, stronger target man (basically Roberts, in the absence of any suitable new signings). My selection: Robinson Salgado Samba Nelsen Givet N'Zonzi Dunn Pedersen Kalinic Olsson Roberts Subs: Brown, Jones, Diouf, Emerton, Hoillet, Grella
OscarRaven
Robinson Salgado - Samba - Nelson - Givet - Olsson Nzonzi <---- Dunn - Pedersen ---> Kalinic - Roberts Subs: Emerton, Holliet, Jones, Andrews, Grella, Brown, Rigters (replace!)
john.leigh
Robinson Salgado Nelsen Samba Givet Nzonzi Diouf Pedersen Olsson Dunn Kalinic Subs Bunn, Jones, Hoilett, Roberts, Grella, Andrews, Emerton My big concern is if we get 'second season syndrome' for Jones, Nzonzi & to a lesser extent Hoilett.. Commondore
Commondore, on 22 July 2010 - 23:12 PM, said: -Robinson- -Samba-Nelsen-Givet- -Emerton-N'Zonzi-Dunn-Pedersen-Olsson- -Kalinic-Roberts- Good but we won't see it till 85 mins into a home game and 2 nil down. The key question (although of course theoretical) is if Pedersen can handle the defensive responsibility of a central midfielder in a 3-5-2. With two or so signings I think our squad fits quite well for the formation, which has made a bit of a comeback the last few years. The prospect of Dunn playing behind two strikers is certainly tempting.

RibbleValleyRover
EMERTON at right back people!!!! Just me??? I'm torn over whether i would play him there or in central midfield. From what i've seen Emerton still is the best right back at the club, but he could play a role in central midfield alongside N'Zonzi as he has the energy and aggression to do so. Salgado made right-back his own last season, after a shaky start, and he's too expensive to bench.
USRoverME
what, no-one has suggested the very real: ---------------- Robbo ------------------- Salgado ---- Jones ---- Nelsen ---- Givet Pedersen - Emerton - Dunn - NZonzi - Olsen ---------------- Samba ------------------- formation? No one is to expensive to bench, if better results mean a change in formation were someone else offers more, he's benched IMO. Shame Capello didn't do the same. RevidgeBlue
Maybe we could introduce a revolutionary new 2-7-2-0 formation to the footballing world with 2 keepers............ Robinson Brown Emerton Jones Hanley Samba Nelsen Givet Chimbonda Grella Andrews Plenty of defensive solidity there.
