Really? Didn't look like it could be breathtaking in the reviews and trailers, but I fancy going.

It was very good, if a little confused. There are three particular sequences, all filmed in one take each, that are worth going for alone.

Saw The Departed earlier. It's absolutely pulse-pounding stuff, Scorcese at his very best. If no Oscars spring from it then I'll be very surprised.

The best line belongs to the superb Alec Baldwin: "Patriot Act! Patriot Act! I love it!"

Yes, also went to see it last night and it's excellent film with a lot of twists at the end. Nicholson is unsurprisingly good in it but so too is DiCaprio who gives a great performance. There are some aspects that don't seem to make too much sense when thinking about it afterwards but all in all, recommended. Plenty of red herrings too

Gangs of New York was so bad that it hurt. The Aviator was good but this is something else entirely.

Agreed Matt, got the Aviator soundtrack in the car. I haven't seen the Departed yet, but by all acounts it's a refreshing blast away from all the dross that's out at the moment. Took the girls to see 'Devil Wears Prada' yesterday, they're getting too old for 'Hoodwinked', it was OK I suppose.

Oh well, nearly Nov 17th - Bond and Dec 1st - Flushed Away.

If you're thinking of watching Flushed Away on the opening weekend It might be a good idea to start booking now !

It was a let down . Even Daniel Day Lewis couldn't save that one

I wasnt to upset till the end fight.

I'd sat down through three hours waiting for this fantastic big fight and bam - blink and its over.

Also am I the only one to think that Taxi Driver isnt as good as the majority says it is? I like it a lot, but one of the greatest ever?

I didn't rate Taxi Driver that much. I suppose for it's day it dealt with drugs, violence, kiddy porn so it was probably a very powerful image to those not used to seeing it everyday on the news.

If it didn't have the DeNiro scene then I don't think it would have sat up there for so long.

Also I thought that Gangs of New York was excellent.

Watched "Click" last night. Not bad for a couple of hours of cinema. Nothing groundbreaking or hasn't been done before but still good fun. Also Kate Beckinsale is lovely

The Departed was excellent. I recommend it. There was also a trailer for 300; that one doesn't look to be my cup of tea.

I also liked Gangs of New York.

Me too. Very much. V for Vendetta is good but not a patch on The Matrix.
