Sorry, too stupid to do links, but this is from Jacob Steinberg in The Guardian in an article entitled 'Gripes of the Season 2011-2012'

The criticism of Blackburn fans

Blackburn Rovers finished 10th under Sam Allardyce in the 2009-10 season. When the club's new Indian owners Venky's sacked Sam Allardyce and replaced him with Steve Kean in December 2011, they were 13th. With the owners prattling on about signing Ronaldinho, supporters were dubious, especially as Kean's agent, Jerome Anderson, had advised Venky's to buy the club. Blackburn stayed up, but results this season continued to suffer and games at Ewood Park have been played to a soundtrack of prolonged booing and chants of "Kean Out!". However, instead of noticing the supporters' anger at the way their club has been run by Venky's and the team has been managed by Kean, too many pundits and journalists have focused on the behaviour of the fans. While some behaviour towards Kean has crossed the line, Blackburn Rovers means more to those supporters than it ever will to owners, managers, players or neutrals, some of whom have come across as desperately out of touch. A significant part of the criticism has been a disgrace and just yet another example of the way football fans are dumped on from a very great height by those with the power and influence to make a difference.

Interview with one of the Rao brothers earlier on in the year. Clueless sprang to mind. The best quote was:

"Im not worried by fans protests. They have a right to be unhappy and if there unhappy there isnt anything we can do about it".

No passion, no interest, no idea.

Summary of Venkys tenure

Well done to Julie, from the Fans Forum and Michael. SKY SH.IT THEMSELVES WHEN MICHAEL SAID "Kean is a compulsive liar!"

Bunch of ****!

Oooh, what did Julie say? I'm amazed she had the guts to go back on TV again after the amazing Granada TV hatchet job on her interview in Pune.

Are Venkys past the point of no return??Interesting Read going around today

Without wishing to get all Jethro Tull on everybody, was a bit bemused by this, though: "their longest ever run in the top flight"???

1888 - 1936, 44 seasons.

Would really like to hear someone from the more general media challenge comedy-boy and his puppet masters, too. A lot of these articles seem to be from a partisan perspective, and although I fully applaud, it would be nice to hear a 5Live corresponsdent (fr'instance) say: "Excuse me, but isn't that b*$%@£cks?", just the once.

Shouldve read post-war, but thanks for bringing it up.

It is also our longest run in the PL needless to say.

Interesting paragraph from the Guardian in their 'gripe of the Season' review

The line in bold is a nice touch, and something that a lot of reporters have missed

...wasn't so much pedantry as wanting it made clear we weren't just some johnny-come-latelys who should be grateful when Ronald McDonald pops by offering to buy Ronaldhino for us for the loose change in his clown pockets and some milk bottle tops. ;) We been around the block.

"Like most negative incidents in life, the unnecessary nature of Blackburn’s season will plague the Rovers faithful, as will the ‘why, why, why’; the ‘why did this have to happen’ regret of the anarchy unfolding before English football’s very eyes. With Steve Kean probably to remain in charge for another season and leaked letters inferring how the owners will simply ignore any cries for help, it might just be about to become worse. The life of Blackburn Rovers is slowly but surely escaping, gasping for air, swimming around the remaining carcass of the club and burying itself in a mountain of ill-advised insanity, incompetence and awful, cash-hunting swindlers. We’ve seen this happen before; clubs heading for wreck and ruin and having, in the Riversiders case, 137 years of history tarnished and disrespected. If it keeps up like this, God only knows what Rovers next 137 years will be like."

From one of those articles.

That des kelly article in the daily mail is from 18 months ago (December 2010), seems he saw straight through them from the start of their tenure....good man!

Yet he has continued to peddle the corporate shyte of "poor Steve Kene / nasty Blackburn Rover fans" on TalkShyte every Sunday night during the season. Two faced ignorant prick!
