Well after watching the first half of tonights game with Hull, there's absolutely nothing to be scared of. This league is completely full of mediocrity. Keith Treacy's playing for Burnley for goodness sake - that's how far we've dropped. Hull look no better either.

To even consider the Championship is the place for PL clubs to look for talent, boggles the mind.

Make a note, Agree with your first point entirely :) - yet to see a good side in the Championship this season - accordingly no-one seems to want to go up.

As regards your second point, there are one or two gems to be had. Zaha etc. I can't see any real reason why the likes of Austin and Rhodes and Murray at Palace wouldn't do well in the Premiership either.

Stupidly agreed to go to Benidorm on a stag do without realising the dates clashed and it doesn't look like it'll be on tv.

Still, I'll be warm, and half cut, so if the worst happens it will numb the pain.

I think we were in worse shape earlier this season against them and we nearly won that one. Dunn must be knocking on the door for a start (fingers crossed). Jones will be fresh and raring to go, Best should be in better shape too.

We're gonna bloody win lads.

Bloody hell, on that burnley performance this game is deffo not going to be a classic! I'm not sure who is going to be worse, us or them!

We seemed to have a bad spell (5 or 6 games) prior to the last Bumley game. Maybe we are just bad for each other - players and fans all too aware of the importance to the fans and taking their eye off the ball - literally.

Maybe now we're playing each other more often things will calm down a bit and a sense of proportion will return.

In some ways (*sucks breathe through gritted teeth*) I wonder if it would be better for us in the long run if the record went...?

Stuart, come on fella. You've had a 'mare there. Have a good long hard look at yourself! What possible good would losing to that shower bring?

It might make us compete more in all of our games rather than just twice a season?

Or something.

*links fingers and twirls thumbs behind back, swaying slightly, avoiding eye contact by fixing them on imaginary yet important spec of dust that's just landed on floor by feet*

Sorry.

I know where he's coming from the pressure would be off if it did happen (and we seem to be here for the long haul it can't last forever)

We just have to hope we can keep the record going as long as possible as the gloating will be unbearable otherwise

And to think I almost did the 'Oi, I paid for two!' joke that Eric and Ernie were so fond of haha.

Are you trying for the 'most controversial' poster award? Or are you just mad as a box of frogs?

Jesus wept...

Tin hat time but our record against Burnley is a bit like Peterborough fans saying that they have enjoyed a 100 per cent win record over Blackburn at Ewood Park for the past 38 years. The fact we have only played them twice rather explains the record. It's the same with the Clarets. We've been on a different level to them for the majority of the past 35 years and thus have hardly played them. A protracted stay in the Championship and the fact that the damage done by Venkys over the past two years has more or less put us on a level with them means the record will go at some point - if only by the law of averages.

Those of us of a certain age were brought up watching Rovers and Burnley being able to beat each other and the players of both team often socialising together because off the field they were friends. It was a time when you could travel to each ground under your own steam, stand with opposition fans and enjoy some friendly banter. It certainly wasn't the tribal blood feud that it has now become and was all the more enjoyable because of it. How times change.

Having said all that I was at the Turf when they played Leyton Orient on the day they faced relegation from the Football League hoping to see their demise - needless to say I didn't stay around at the end to join in their celebrations!

As for Sunday, I thought they might take advantage of our injuries but having watched a little bit of last night's defeat to Hull I'm hopeful that we might win or at the very least get a point. I think much will depend on what happens on Wednesday. If that game goes to extra time and we pick up more injuries then Burnley will certainly fancy their chances.

Point taken Parson, but didn't we beat Peterborough 5-2 at Ewood about 3 yrs ago?

Sorry, I was only referring to games in the League. You are quite right about the League Cup game. Mind you, if Peterborough go down this season that League record might roll on for some time to come.
