Isn't Wharton out of contract too? Can't remember if he was given a new one.

No chance that Bennett will play L1 and I think Conway will find a championship club.

That leaves Ward and Williams as the only senior players.

League 2 almost a certainty.

Rovers squad will be very different to the one to the current squad.

Out of contract players I expect to leave are:- Lowe, Akpan, Henley, Greer, Brown. Mahoney. saving around 60k a week on wages there

I think Guthrie will be offered a new contract

I think Mulgrew, Graham, Stokes, Steele and Feeney will leave aswell. I hope Mulgrew and Graham do stay but cant see it

Not sure if Lenihan will leave.

Plus Emnes, Gallagher, Joao, Hoban and Hendrie will all go back to their parent clubs.

So the squad will look like this

GK- Raya, Fisher

DEF- Nymabe, Lenihan, Wharton, Ward, Williams Travis Doyle

MID- Bennett, Guthrie(If he re-sign here) Conway Tomlinson Hardcastle Rankie-Costello

STR- ?

Transfer needed

1 Right back, 1 centre back, 2 centre midfielders, 1 winger with pace, 3 strikers(target man or pacey players) and 1 experience keeper

I would look at Rochdale pacey winger Nathaniel Mendez Laing, Norwich midfielder Louis Thompson, Cardiff midfield Tom Adeyemi who has been on loan at Rotherham and Could do a swap deal for Feeney there who Warnock wanted to sign in January

But the bigger thing we need is a proper recruitment plan that fit into the head coach tactics and style of play. I really hope we have Mowbray as head coach.

Wigan are already all over  Mendez-Laing.

There is no money chaddy.  The owners are not putting money in which is why we are forced to take high interest loans to keep the show on the road.  Freebies and youngsters will be the order of the day with the odd loan thrown in.

They still need luring here with bigger wages than others offer, not happening.

Mahoney/Nyambe rumours seem to be gathering pace at our end.

I think if you keep hold of Mowbray you'll be okay next season. It's quite easy to get quite high up in L1, just tricky making sure you're 1 of the 3 teams who goes up.

Havent seen one rumour linking Nyambe with PNE. how much you got to spend? Some of your fans still want Grayson out

Wharton ends in 2018. So I hope the club is looking to extend his deal

There is no such thing as a free transfer. The only thing you get out of is paying the old club a fee, in turn you often end up getting stung for equal or more on 'relocation fees', 'signing bonus', etc, etc.

We won't get anywhere near promotion from league one unless we invest in players. We cannot have another season of throwing frees and loans it just doesn't work. Last years league 1 winners had billy sharp up from who cost £2million from Leeds and was on 20k a week!

We need to know what level we're now dealing with. We have to try and hold on to the likes of leniham, mulgrew etc even if it means us losing them for free the following season. I'd like us to bring josh Morris back who had a great season with scuthroroe and wouldn't command a large fee or wages but proven at this level. However if our transfer budget was £250k this season I dread to think what it is next season in league 1!

To be honest there are a whole bunch of players that interest me around League One to Conference I previously mentioned Obika, Willis, it would be interesting to look at Josh Morris (who had a fantastic season), as well as Forest Green Striker Christian Doidge who has a pretty good goal scoring record.

At the end of the day we are now going to be a big fish. If normal circumstances applied then we should be in a good position to do as Bolton have done and go straight back up. if 'the plan' is to recruit from the lower leagues then we should be well placed to poach the best players from other clubs.

We are going to be one of, if not the biggest club in League One next season. There can be no arguing on that front, regardless of how many people decide to turn up and watch the latest instalment of the slow destruction of the club. Players from other clubs down there would normally jump at the chance to play for this club at Ewood Park and work at Brockhall during the week. The flip side is that the likes of Bury and Fleetwood will be relishing playing us and trying to beat us.

We have a massive wage bill and some players around the place who will be very good players in Lge 1. I'm talking Mulgrew, Graham, Conway, Evans, Bennett and Lenihan.

If we had a structure and a plan then we should be well placed to challenge next season, but we all know that whatever advantage we have in terms of wages and attractiveness will be squandered by rank bad management.

We all know that we will be hamstrung by the Indians yet again and the only concern at the club will be cutting costs and making money from player sales rather than putting together a winning team, but no matter how much worse things get we need to take strength from where we have been as a club and where we can one day, Indians free, get back to.

One person on Twitter (who is a wind up merchant) has said it. Most PNE acknowledge that we are lucky to have him.

That's BS for a start. Know a lot of PNE fans and  quite a few think the football is dull and you can do better. I'm pretty sure you can't, Grayson is a good manager.

Heard a few on radio lancs in the last few weeks say it

Well they're in a very small minority. It's not relevant anyway but he has the full backing of the owner. He has us overachieving and nowhere near the drop on a shoestring which is a godsend for Hemmings who hates spending on transfer fees.

It was dull as dishwater last season but that was whilst we were establishing ourselves at the level and were upgrading the squad. We have much more pace and quality now and it's been much better to watch this season.

I'm hoping we can have a proper go at the top 6 next season but in reality it will always be tricky with the money going around in the Championship now.

I think you'll be alright next season and up there in L1 if you can get Mowbray to stay.

I cannot for the life of me see them footing the wage bill for players and yet letting ordinary folk on a fraction of their wages go.

If they had any designs on funding a promotion attempt in the first season at least, they would not be penny pinching at this stage.

The fans are on their own when it comes to the football authorities. It's increasingly obvious that people like Cheston and Coar are on their own when it comes to Venkys.

And we pay them with?

Bloody wake up man. 7 bloody years. Wake the hell up!!!!!!

We had a top 10 wage bill in the Championship and in budget terms should never have gone down.

We'll have a competitive League One budget even with cost cutting. Look at Bolton. Rovers will probably have the highest league one wage bill next season.

The first bit of business will be dealing with Anthony Stokes. If rumours are correct he's on the best part of £15k a week at Rovers for another year. Are we going to leave him to sit around doing nothing other than 'dealing with his issues' whilst drawing that amount of money out of the club? Or are we going to do the inevitable and pay him off this summer and he becomes the latest in a long line to walk away with a fat cheque for minimal contribution to the club.

Either way there's the neck end of £1 million going his way for what I expect will be very little in return.

Just imagine what a Fleetwood could do with that £1 million.

That's why despite having the budget we won't succeed, because so much of it is going to be eaten up on non-contributors.

Sorry JHR - it's worse than that. 3 year contract signed in June 2016.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36564511

So that's £1.5m over the next 2 seasons for a bloke who never gets a kick.

Don't understand why we continue to pay Stokes. Presumably we signed him knowing about his problems and his upcoming Court case with the Elvis impersonator. Thats fine. Everyone deserves a second chance etc.

However he's under contract to play football. If he's unable to play because of his mental state be it because of the Elvis case or more recently because of him becoming an internet porn star then that's not our fault and surely we'd be entitled to terminate his contract.
