Not naming names, but there's a poster on this thread who is simply a mischievous troll. Itk my arse.

Don't be petty, if you have a problem with someone in here then tell them instead of going about it like that.

I'll be a little less cryptic. The same poster disrespected Paul Robinson on his retirement thread.

We specialise in signing crocks so we should be experts on keeping them as fit as possible by now.

Didn't we write the book? Isn't it called; "his knees are Dunn"..

Sort it via PM instead of teasing whoever it is on here. It's tiresome for the rest of us and won't reflect well on either your 'target' or you. Just a friendly nod.

Guessing this is aimed at me... why the @#/? would I make up that one of our best players wants to leave? ? It would make me very happy if we kept all of our best players and I think that it is probable that we will. I've not once professed to be in the know, Mowbray (our manager) told shareholders that Lenihan wants to leave, that is a fact.

As for Robinson, why can't I disrespect a man that would tarnish his good reputation with us for a few extra quid in his retirement fund? @#/? him.

Not necessarily. Its also about timing. I would sooner keep Lenihan and risk him being unhappy at not getting a move than sell him at 11pm on deadline day with no replacement and go into the season relying on the injury prone Ward and Mulgrew. We also know that whatever money we get for him in the event of a sale will disappear or we won't have time to spend it before the window shuts.

Just because a player voices a desire to move if the opportunity presents itself doesn't mean we have to get rid of him (though that is what the club will attempt to portray).

We see it every summer in world football where certain players are rumoured to be unhappy or looking for a move but end up staying where they are and continue to perform.

As far as I am concerned Lenihan owes us next season at least after what this club has done for him. By all means if we're still in this division next summer then give him his move.

I agree that Lenihan does owe us next season the problem is not what you or I think or anybody else it's what he thinks. I can bet my bottom dollar if another club in a higher position came knocking & the attraction of a decent signing on fee beckoned he'd be off in a shot. Has to be stressed though that there is no suggestion that this will be the case. The club could also dig its heels in & make things awkward the price has to be right for them I should imagine in combination.

It's a measure as to just how far Rovers have fallen in that fans are moderately 'excited' by the signings of such as Whittingham, Dack and Samuel.  Some of us remember when we were signing the likes of Shearer and Sutton!  We are now light years away from that era.

Think we need to be realistic.  Talented players such as Raya, Lenihan and Mulgrew will not want to be plying their trade in the murky depths of League 1 - Graham might just be different in that he's likely to be seen as one going backwards, who is injury prone and too expensive wage wise.  TM can make all the noises he wants, and fans can choose to believe what they want, but the harsh reality is it's the players who call the tune.

No? Really?

Anyway, it's good to see you back for the transfer window. You always did like selling our best players. Rhodes to Bolton to link up with Wee Dougie was my personal favourite:D

How good would it be if we stood firm and just told them to bugger off. I believe Lenihan at least owes us a season in this division but like rats in a sinking ship they will be quick enough to jump. I am a realist though so if 5 million is flown in the bid isn't getting knocked backed, just a shame it won't be added to the transfer kitty.

We have fallen but we are assembling a side that is geared up for promotion, not relegation or mere survival. In this position, what more can be done?  Any thoughts of signing top, top players aren't realistic until two promotions.  Right now, I'm relieved with how we are finally being led by someone.
