Well as a southern woman it wouldn’t affect you, would it ?

I must have had a sex change without knowing about it.

It'd be quicker to try to name an organ of the state that is working correctly- if you can think of one, because I can't.

Tax evasion and avoidance. It’s a UK speciality. Tory donors are world leaders

Indeed..... so it does start......if you meant fake news that immediately sends the left into mouth frothing delirium. (Not you btw, the twitter clan, who exploded over this, and look a tad foolish now.)

I mean the clues were all there if they took a minute to have a think. All deals between ourselves and the EU remain intact till the end of the year at least.

I'm afraid "triggered" doesn't even begin to cover it in this instance.

I think maybe everyone should pause, wait a beat, and take a deep breath in future before jumping on the "Look what Brexit's caused!" bandwagon.

My tip is, very little will be caused for at least 10.5 months.

So maybe we can all have a little break.

Game of noughts and crosses anyone?!

So that Twitter bubble Nandy spoke about is true then.

Who would have thought it, the left use “fake news” just as much as the right.

Is there actually a sensible centrist party in the UK right now are we destined to always choose between the lesser of two evils?

We live in a world of extremes now unfortunately, so a centrist party would likely struggle to gain any foothold. It's a shame because most people are really not extremists on either side, but are blinded by the hate and fear spewed across social media and the press - mostly orchestrated by deviously programmed AI designed to manipulate emotions and thought processes. As a result we have generally rational people at each other's throats, voting for parties and policies purely out of spite and bitterness rather than compassion or any real understanding of what is going on.

Meanwhile in the Labour party leadership contest the candidates are rowing over whether individuals who are biologically men should be allowed to use women's changing rooms - I hear they speak of little else in Workington and Bishop Auckland.

I fully support everyone having equal rights, opportunities etc. and don't pretend to know the answer to the issue mentioned.

I was disappointed to see the amount of time the four candidates spent on transgender issues in a recent TV debate. It is entirely right they have concern and will work to ensure equality BUT it is far from the most important issue yet of course receives a disproportionate amount of media coverage.

Can I suggest you read Labour policy and understand what the candidates wish to do for the country. You might then understand why Labour is a far better alternative than the Dominic Cummings Party.

I took a close interest in Labour party policy in the general election campaign and rapidly came to the conclusion that there were a number of other parties who offered a better alternative.

Northern Powerhouse minister "resigns", ie sacked, his job abolished

 https://www.thebusinessdesk.com/northwest/news/2055389-northern-powerhouse-minister-quits

..... to be taken over by a southern minister, the wonderful Grant Shapps.

So much for "levelling up", and the importance of boosting the north

Johnson lied....again

EU bending over backwards for the closest of close relationship. Was always going to be thus.

Did you read the same article I did? Quite a few references to very tight rules and expectations of us in any deal.

I agree, they absolutely WANT a deal, but it will be closer to their terms than ours imo.

I'm with you Mike. It appeared to read that although they want a close relationship, it will be on their terms, and they're not prepared to compromise on certain issues.

The direction of the deal will be chosen by the UK.

The detail and balance of benefit will be set by the EU.

Because the EU hold all the cards and Johnson is a lazy bugger who doesn't do detail.

Ps the reason I edited is because I typed lady instead of lazy. The first version is allegedly true also..

I was once typing an article and I wanted to use the word " Hanker " in regards to the Tories hankering for a bygone era. The little man who lives inside my lap top changed the word to " Banker ". When I tried again he changed it to " Wanker ". He must be a clever little man.

Pritti Patel's latest plans regarding immigrant workers has gone down really well with the employers. The care industry in particular is already up in arms because they realise their workforce will more or less vanish. There is already speculation regarding care homes closing. Patel reckons there are millions of Brits not fully employed out there just dying to wipe a few backsides. Maybe she should try it.

It's heading only one way Philip..... a hard Brexit with no deal, a low-tax Britain with lax rules and regulations and few public services.. This has been the Tory right wing's dream for 40 years, they cannot believe their luck and they're not going to miss their chance now

Looking like there won't be a deal or one side will have to blink.

It won't be the EU!

This government have turned the U.K. into something that should be so loathsome, to most decent people. We have become a country tolerant of no one who isn’t white and who wasn’t born here. If there’s an opportunity to deport them then it’s seized whether they recognise the country they’re being sent to or not. White nationalism is what the government is about. It’s disgraceful. Immigration and immigrants are the devil and the cause of most of our problems. Get rid of them and the future is bright. That’s the message.

This policy has a lot of support mainly from brexiteers. They’re not racist though.

The Home Secretary is from East Africa descent is she not? Our chancellor is not a “white nationalist”. It’s a multi cultural government, no?

Many of the firms who are criticising this are also the ones who exploit foreign workers for cheap labour. Maybe if they hadn’t drove wages down so low they wouldn’t now be in this position now. Industry has just as much responsibility as the government in all of this.

A high wage, low tax, low unemployment society is of benefit to all, where each pays their way. A friend of mine worked in Australia for a year in a call centre and was paid more than enough to be able to afford rent in a really nice apartment and still have disposable income to eat out, socialise and live a lifestyle we here would consider “middle class”. Our wages are terrible here and something has to be done to drive them up. I’m not saying this is the answer but by outlawing firms the right to access cheap unfettered labour it is a small step in the right direction.

The government with Asians as Chancellor of the Exchequer and Home Secretary ? What complete nonsense !
