Shame really (looking at the bigger picture).

A decent young lad who bangs in goals for fun, gets a dream move to Rovers (money-wages-wise) and it becomes an albatross around his neck.

People expect an all round PL experienced striker for that kind of money but it also prices him out of a move to a smaller club.

Ends up with a shorter career and/or a parriah who leeches out his contract (as is his right after clubs offer the cash). Will end up a great loanee somewhere in this division or maybe even lower PL with a proper hod-carrier alongside him.

I was one of those Stuart who doubted he would make it in the Premier League so I don"t think Boro will ever get their money back.

Financially he's made for life or should be but hard not to feel sorry for him that his future is not brighter than it looks right now. Decent bloke but never the superstar he was made out to be.

Just hope he doesn't end up at one of the few teams we could have a chance of catching.

Wonder if Preston feel flush after getting the Garner cash

Maybe he will finally end up at Wednesday

Can see Rhodes going to mid table Championship team like Forest.

He is finisher but lacks pace or strength to ever succeed at PL level

He hasn't had a chance though, plenty of players with limited abilities in some areas have scored a reasonable amount of goals.

Karanka should have looked on here, or watched a few dvd's of Rhodes. It was clear to all but the most blinkered he wasn't cut out for the PL.

Very true but Karanka has bought in Negredo who offer the strength abality.

Bournemouth play with pace up front like Grabban, Wilson, King.

Alot of managers are after these attributies in their striker options

The gamble worked though. Like it or not, he contributed points that got them promoted.

Really hope he doesn't end up at Preston or even 'that lot' on a 10-20% wages contribution deal. It's quite likely though - just to add further insult to injury. (Like the Liverpool win  )

Depends how you view it, his goals helped secure promotion to the Premier League which is worth a lot of money. I firmly believe that was one of the reasons they brought him in and maybe even half-expected that he might not be "good enough" for the Premier League. Bit sad to see it looks like he's not going to be given a crack at the Premier League. Rovers should make a cheeky loan bid, we need a fourth striker. Realistically he may very well end up on loan at a team challenging for promotion in the Championship, Norwich or Newcastle perhaps.

Yes the gamble paid off handsomely and he got the odd goal here and there that made all the difference to Boro's chances. With 100 million now floating about they won't mind making a loss on him at this stage.

The gulf between the PL and the Championship is marked. I believe Rhodes would still have scored the odd goal at that level due to his predatory intincts from 12 yards, but doubt he would have been given a long enough run in the team for those odd chances to fall his way. Let us hope he can find a home or the perfect place in between the Championship and the PL.

Jordan Rhodes as a player is like Norwich as a club - he can rip the Championship apart, but probably isn't cut out for the Premier League.

I just hope he finds a club that appreciates him...unless it's Burnley.

In a totally ridiculous bending of rules Joe Hart can play for City tonight but not be cup tied if a champions league side come in for him - not sure how his works.

You have to wonder what goes on between Saido Berahinos ears, he finds himself on the bench today after more transfer speculation, the lads career is sliding away due to agents controlling his career, wake up and concentrate on football, its not all about money you greedy petulant little sod.

All credit to the club for not buckling on price and player power, they've stood their ground, very rare in this day and age.

He's not even that good. If Stoke wanted to pay £25m for some kid who can run a bit then I'd bite their hands off. It's only because he's young, English and has a Brazilian sounding name that everyone is rubbing one out over him. His attitude is questionable, he has done nothing of note and doesn't score goals.

Thought Hull were a tad unlucky against Man United at weekend. Really wanted them to pinch a goal and watch Jose pulling faces.

No manager, only 13 players signed on, loads of injuries, squad, supporter and owner unrest. 6 points from 3 games for newly promoted Hull in the PL. Coyle has signed 10 of his own players and has us marooned at the bottom of the Championship. But, but, its not his fault or anything to do with him.
